Ants[1] are enemies based on real-world ants which appear in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. They first appear in the Tree Zone level The Exit, and are later encountered in two Macro Zone levels, The Ant Monsters and In the Syrup Sea. Ants continuously walk from side-to-side, and can damage Mario by marching into him. Mario can quickly defeat an Ant by either jumping on it or, as Fire Mario, shooting a fireball at it.
Ants and their three variants — Chikunto, Goronto, and Dokanto — are largely featured in The Ant Monsters, which takes place in an ant nest.

Hardworking giant ants
He is the hardest worker of the Antotto clan, just like an ant. He is one of the most common characters in the "Macro Zone", and his monotonous movements allow him to be defeated simply by jumping on him.
