This page discusses the scope of Mariopedia. This wiki primarily covers the Mario franchise, which also includes three spinoff franchises: Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong.
Because the Mario franchise is so large, and Mario himself has even appeared in over 200 games, it is important to note how far our scope should go. There are a couple of franchises and series that, while they are not part of the main Mario franchise, are closely connected to it, and their coverage here is an added bonus. This includes:
- The Legend of Zelda - it has had Mario content make guest appearances in several of its main series titles, which are often developed concurrently alongside a Super Mario series title by the same development team
- Super Smash Bros. - of which the Mario franchise is the flagship representative and the series' English name is a pun on Super Mario Bros.
- Banjo-Kazooie - one of the titular characters, Banjo, has debuted in Diddy Kong Racing
- Conker - the titular character, Conker, has debuted in Diddy Kong Racing
