Mr. Saturns are a species in the EarthBound/Mother series. They are also used in the game Super Smash Bros. Melee, as weak items. Mr. Saturns just walk around until someone picks them up. After a while, the Mr. Saturn will disappear. If a player were to press A when near a Mr. Saturn, they would pick it up. They could be thrown at another player for minor damage. However, there is a high chance that a thrown Mr. Saturn will break a shield. Princess Peach, when doing her Vegetable move, has a small chance that she'll grab a Mr. Saturn.

In the Onett mission of Adventure Mode, Mr. Saturns are the only items that appear.

The origins of the Mr. Saturn race are unknown, but many believe they came from outer space. They reside in Saturn Valley and speak their own unique language. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mr. Saturn is just another item with which to pelt foes. These guys are laid back and not into fighting, so you can rest easy ...or can you?

Trivia

• Of all the item bonuses in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mr. Saturn awards the most bonuses. Of these bonuses the player can be awarded Saturn Ringer, Mr. Saturn Fan, Saturn Siblings, and Mrs. Saturn.
• Lucas uses his Tea Table for his on-screen appearance. The Tea Table is shaped to look like Mr. Saturn, right down to a streak of hair with a bow on it on the back.
• An alternate costume for Ness has a 16-Bit Mr. Saturn on his shirt.
