History

Donkey Kong franchise

Canon

In Donkey Kong Country, Rambi is first encountered with DK and Diddy Kong in journey to recover the Banana Hoard that was stolen by Kremling Krew. He can hit hard enemies like Krusha, barrels thrown by Mankys, coconuts thrown by Neckies and secret doors. He can be defeated from behind and by mincers.

In Donkey Kong Land, he is found by DK and Diddy Kong in Cranky Kong's test to retrieve the Banana Hoard from K. Rool's hands.[1]

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest/Donkey Kong Land 2, Rambi is found by Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong on their journey to save DK who was kidnapped by K. Rool on Crocodile Isle.[2] The attacks from defeating the enemies are the same, but he has another way of destroying the secret doors which is the supercharge. The only things he can be defeated easily are Cannonballs from Kannon, King Zing and the spears from the jungles levels.

In Donkey Kong 64, Rambi is only accessed by DK when he touches his crate. He appears on Jungle Japes on the stormy side where he has the ability to destroy the rondavels and blockades with his face. In Hideout Helm, he appears in the Bonus Barrel to the right of the first reactor chamber where he must defeat 18 Kritters without hitting the power pylons.

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, Rambi is found by DK and Diddy Kong on the same Banana Hoard journey that this time was stolen by Tiki Tak Tribe. His attacks are the same, but he has the ability to destroy barriers (mostly with his face), get the spikes out of the ground and defeat large enemies at once and break with his feet. The only things he can be defeated easily are by fire enemies and he can disappear if he not mounted by the DK quickly.

In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Rambi is encountered by DK, Diddy, Dixie and Cranky on their journey back to Kong Island that was usurped by the Snowmads. His attack and defeat are the same as in Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Spin-off

In Donkey Konga, Rambi appears as a dancer in Jam Session along with Banana Birds, Cranky, K. Rool, Diddy and Ellie.

In Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Rambi appears in a circuit called Dynamite Run where his crate is seen. When a player break his crate, Rambi is mounted and has the ability to knock over Steel Kegs.
