Spring platforms,[1] also known as bouncing boughs[2] and springboard platforms,[3] are a type of platform in Super Mario World. They can propel the player upwards like a Jumping Board or Jump Block and share the same sound effect with them. They are not free-floating platforms, but they are always attached to the side of another object. Each one consists of five green segments, with the attaching segment never being affected by the player's pressure. Unlike with most other springs, the closer the player is to the end of the platform, the higher they will bounce upon jumping. Spring platforms are found in Vanilla Secret 1, Vanilla Dome 4, and Gnarly.
