Jumping Venus Fire Traps (also called Fire Jumping Piranhas) are a variant of both a Jumping Piranha Plant and a Venus Fire Trap. They make their only appearance in Super Mario World and its reissues. A Jumping Venus Fire Trap has the behavior of a Jumping Piranha Plant in that it jumps high out of a pipe and a Venus Fire Trap in that it spits out fireballs. A Jumping Venus Fire Trap spits out two fireballs while launching out of a Warp Pipe, and each fireball travels in a separate direction.

Jumping Venus Fire Traps appear in Cookie Mountain and the Special Zone. They are rare as only seven appearing throughout the game. Most of the Jumping Venus Fire Traps mainly appear in the level Outrageous, and a lone one is found in the level Groovy and another one is found in Funky.

Like Piranha Plants and their relatives, a Jumping Venus Fire Trap's head turns into a jack-o'-lantern once Mario and Luigi have cleared Funky. In Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, this is accomplished by completing all 96 exits.
