First appearance | Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001) |
Latest appearance | Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008) |
The Warp Star is a common item in the Kirby series. It also makes an appearance as an item in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When a character grabs one, they will fly up into the air, and then crash right back down, making an explosion that damages other players (but not the player who used the Warp Star).
A Warp Star also appears in the Subspace Emissary of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Kirby and Peach/Zelda use it to escape from the stadium right before it is swallowed by Subspace. However, they are chased by the Battleship Halberd, and are forced to land on it.

Warp Star | File:WarpStar Trophy.jpg | GB Kirby's Dream Land | A warp-speed item. In the Kirby series, Warp Stars are used to move between stages. In Smash Bros., they're ultrafast attack items that zoom up and down to devastate anyone they hit. You can shift your landing spot by moving the Control Stick left or right during your descent. Choose your target and hang on! Don't overshoot the mark and plummet off the stage, though. |

Trivia
- The Warp Star appears in the 2006 version of Nintendo Monopoly, as a station. It takes the place B&O Railroad, and costs $200. In the 2010 version, it was replaced by a Pikmin Onion.
- In Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario (or Luigi) rides Grand Stars similar to how players (specifically Kirby, despite the Warp Star appeared in the Kirby series) ride the Warp Star in the games.
