Poké Balls are items from the Pokémon series, which also appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series. When thrown, the Poké Ball will release a random Pokémon out of the ball, say its cry, and attack. Very, very rarely, the player will encounter a Pokémon such as Mew, Jirachi or Celebi. These Pokémon don't do any damage to anybody, they just fly off screen and drop items. However, after the battle, the player will get a huge score for releasing that Pokémon. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Pokémon Trainer uses a Poké Ball to change between his three different Pokémon: Charizard, Squirtle and Ivysaur.
The Poké Ball is also the Pokémon series emblem.
A trophy of a Poké Ball can also be obtained in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
