A Mini Urchin is a shrimp sub-species of Urchins that first appears in the game New Super Mario Bros. 2.
Mini Urchins only appear in World 3 in a couple levels, and unlike regular Urchins and Mega Urchins, they only stand still. Mini Urchins can be defeated with a Fire Flower, Gold Flower, or Star. They usually appear in large groups.
