Large Ant Troopers (also called Big Ant Troopers) are large enemy equivalents of Ant Troopers. They debut in Super Mario 3D World, appearing mainly in World 4-1, Ant Trooper Hill. A single Large Ant Trooper is also found in a secret room in World 5-4, Sprawling Savanna. They cannot be defeated with any attack, even if players are under the effects of a Super Star or a Invincible Super Leaf. Rather, they must be jumped on in order for the player to progress in fact, they can be useful for getting across dangerous chasms, spike gauntlets, or if you need to get a bit of extra height to reach a niche.
