Midair Stadium is the first stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Adventure Mode, The Subspace Emissary.

It consists of a platform similar to Final Destination. The background has a audince and clouds. When the Army invades it shares it's background with the Halberd stage.

The stage beigns with a battle between Mario and Kirby. After the brawl, the Subspace Army suddenly invades the stadium, and Mario and Kirby, along with Peach and Zelda, end up going up against the Primids among other Subspace creatures. Eventually, the Ancient Minister appears, carrying a Subspace Bomb. Mario gets knocked away and Kirby ends up fighting Petey Piranha, who holds the princesses captive. Kirby manages to rescue one of them, but Wario suddenly appears wielding a Dark Cannon. Wario suddenly notices the other princess and fires his weapon at her instead. Reduced to a trophy, the other princess is taken by Wario. The stage ends with Kirby escaping with the princess he saved and the Subspace bomb exploding, taking the stadium to Subspace. Midair Stadium cannot be played again until the game is cleared.

Trivia

  • If the player defeats Mario and then frees Peach during the fight against Petey Piranha, Mario would be turned into a trophy four times by the time the player reaches The Great Maze. However, Mario would only be turned into a trophy twice if the player defeats Kirby and then frees Zelda from Petey.
  • If one replays the level after beating the game, the player may choose to be Peach and/or Zelda and see that there are two Peaches and two Zeldas on-screen.
