Otacon (really named Dr. Hal Emmerich) is a recurring character from the Metal Gear Solid Series He is an American weapons designer and computer hacker who functions as a Q-like sidekick to Solid Snake, usually giving him support via codec. He is also an Otaku, which is why his nickname is "Otacon", named after the Otakon Anime Convention.

In the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Otacon analyzes some characters in the game, like Yoshi and Kirby, giving tips to Snake about them. This occurs in the stage Shadow Moses Island (from the original Metal Gear Solid game). It can be remarked that, sometimes, Otacon will stutter when trying to explain complicated things to Snake (as when he tells Snake all about the Game & Watch and Mr. Game & Watch).
