::::The one about listing all the guidebook bios of guidebooks you have that have Monty Mole species. Also, I added a few images for the list of misconceptions, what do you think of them and do you wanna add more images to that page later? Also, the Super Mario Wiki said that the source that said Ragumo was a Monty Mole relative wasn’t definitive due to it being said in a shocked manner. But isn’t it definitive since it saying in a shocked way was likely due to it being surprising and not questioning if it was real or not? Oh I also asked if you know any Monty Mole species pages that got deleted from the Super Mario Wiki, since you didn’t answer that question. Revision as of 22:02, November 12, 2022

Hello there:

Yes, I'm the Wiki Creator who approved your wiki, and I came by to check on your progress on this wiki. I'd say it's looking good right now. Thanks for reading this message. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 10:23, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks! User:HannahMontanaFan

why

Why are you making a mario wiki that's an exact duplicate of the one at mariowiki.com, including the reuse of one of their logos? RMV2003 (talk) 19:41, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Those are just placeholders to get the site up to speed. Those will be reworked in due time. Also, the logo is used because I found it and felt it looked cool so I used it. Also, I haven't made them completely identical, I have been trying to differentiate. Keep in mind the site is still way under construction but when it's completed, it will be much bigger than it is now. Also, I have experimenting with some texts and rewording a couple of the pages (something I may have to do to a larger extent in the future), and I have been making proper amendments to further make my site stand out. I also have a background planned for the site which will further differentiate it. It will be added once I figure out how to add a background. User:HannahMontanaFan

You have over 700 articles, so I would probably advise you to start thinking of ways to differentiate this wiki if you absolutely need to do an alternative. Also, perhaps ask Miraheze staff to change from "Super Mario Wiki, The Encyclopedia for everything Mario" to simply "Super Mario Wiki", as you can add "The Encyclopedia for everything Mario" into MediaWiki:Tagline & url change from supermariowiki.miraheze.org to mario.miraheze.org. Perhaps add a disclaimer to acknowledge that a lot of this wiki's content is from MarioWiki.com, as this is what's required under CC-BY-SA. Also yeah I like the logo as well -- it's a classic. RMV2003 (talk) 23:04, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips! I will try to think of ways to differentiate, I have already been giving my titles different names, I have also allowed the use of videos on my pages provided they're relevant to the subject. I have also planned some Seasonal variations of the Logo for the site too (like variations for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, and Easter) but those won't come into play till at least next year. The mario.miraheze.org URL looks more better too I don't know why I didn't think of that at first. Thanks! User:HannahMontanaFan

No problem. You can probably ask DarkMatterMan4500 to make the two changes that I suggested:
 • Changing sitename from "About Super Mario Wiki, The Encyclopedia for everything Mario" to "About Super Mario Wiki"
 • Changing url from supermariowiki.miraheze.org to mario.miraheze.org.

Also, there's a Mariopedia. Perhaps you could've used that for a basis instead. RMV2003 (talk) 23:29, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

For starters, maybe use this for a favicon: RMV2003 (talk) 23:33, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the Favicon! I was actually aware of Mariopedia, I last checked that site out years ago. What did you mean by use it for a basis?

Also, Thanks again! I will ask him to forward those changes. User:HannahMontanaFan

As in reusing that stuff for your wiki rather than Mariowiki.com. Perhaps even wikipedia RMV2003 (talk) 23:42, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

character infobox

I added a different character infobox to Template:Character infobox, which I took from Mariopedia. It allows for more bright colors. Example:

I want to add to articles like Luigi but those pages are admin protected. Why not just lower it to autoconfirmed? RMV2003 (talk) 23:45, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Actually, that one looks pretty good! The reason I put it on full protection is because it was a major page and to prevent trolls from trashing/vandalizing it esp. during the early stages of the site. I also have templates relating to requesting page protection/unprotection. User:HannahMontanaFan

I suppose you could make me an admin so that I can edit these pages. Would that be ok? You can do from changing user rights. RMV2003 (talk) 23:57, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

I've just given you the rights, they will be intact for 6 Months, if you do well, you can be a permanent admin! User:HannahMontanaFan

Sounds great -- I might not be fully active though, seeing as I have some other things to do. RMV2003 (talk) 12:48, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Updates

Are there any updates that you can share (regarding wiki name, favicon, url)? Did you request the name change among other things? I also added Template:MarioWiki that you can add on articles that use content from Mario Wiki.com RMV2003 (talk) 02:08, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Not yet, I've been out for most of the day but I am back now and I will request those. Also, thanks for the template! UPDATE: I just added it now, it should show within the next hour or so. User:HannahMontanaFan

2013-14 mariowiki

I've began to notice that you recycle Mario Wiki content from as of 2013, as the Super Mario series section on the Mario article doesn't go past Super Mario 3D World. Is there any reason in specific for that RMV2003 (talk) 13:00, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

It's because I felt that the 2013-2014 versions have more plentiful information, after that time saw a downsize in the info and it included just moreso the basics rather than interesting facts along with it too. The informations can't be found anywhere else either and the purpose of this site is to expand the knowledge of Mario to those that view it. It's also because it stays in line with the coding for the templates of the site. I got most of them from the wayback machine. I've almost never got the coding from the actual site. Another interesting fact, I couldn't get any version from before mid-2010 as before then, it required you to log in to view the page's source. User:HannahMontanaFan

Yeah for the templates on modern Mario Wiki, they store it in the css. Luckily I know/have practiced quite a bit of css, so I can help you on that RMV2003 (talk) 13:37, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks! I'd appreciate that! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

nintendo.miraheze.org

Do you want to adopt this wiki (someone hasn't done anything to it as of yet)? You could make it a partner project to this wiki I'm thinking. RMV2003 (talk) 13:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Sure! That would be awesome! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

I won't have time to maintain it, as I edit and maintain several other wikis, so that's why I suggested you adopt the wiki and partner it with this website. RMV2003 (talk) 13:26, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
For example, I run places like crashbandicootwiki.com and rarewiki.com. RMV2003 (talk) 13:27, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Both examples I listed have the traditional mariowiki.com format, whereas I've been trying a different format on your wiki if that makes sense. So yeah, I'd say you can probably go right ahead and adopt nintendo.miraheze.org to partner with this wiki, as it sounds like something you'd be willing to do RMV2003 (talk) 13:46, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Sure. I could do that! User:HannahMontanaFan

Sounds good. RMV2003 (talk) 13:56, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
What are your plans for nintendo.miraheze.org? what will you use as a basis? what will the coverage scope look like? RMV2003 (talk) 22:04, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
I went ahead and filed a request for adoption so that we can partner it with this wiki. RMV2003 (talk) 13:08, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Perfect! User:HannahMontanaFan

Template:SPP

I gave this nav template its own design to differentiate. I hope you like it RMV2003 (talk) 14:32, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Looks Good! User:HannahMontanaFan

MediaWiki:Upload-default-description

Is it ok if this shows up on Special:Upload by default? I made a File info template so that the file pages don't look empty. Many are uncategoried & need image categories. Might I suggest, e.g., Category:Super Princess Peach Sprites, Category:Super Princess Peach Screenshots, etc.? RMV2003 (talk) 22:21, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Sure! That could work! It doesn't already? User:HannahMontanaFan

It does work RMV2003 (talk) 04:25, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Site name

Darkmatter said that you can change the site name in the site settings, if you want to have a look into that. I'll make a site tagline/pagetitle and propose to you once you've simplified it to simply "Super Mario Wiki." I think to differentiate at least a little bit, you could just go with simply "Mario Wiki." I'll see if I can make a new logo in the meantime. RMV2003 (talk) 04:25, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks! That's been done, for now I think the logo is fine esp. as I am working on some Seasonal variations for it. User:HannahMontanaFan

interwiki

are you able to edit Special:Interwiki to add mariowiki:, which would link to https://www.mariowiki.com/$1 ? RMV2003 (talk) 02:17, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I don't see an edit button on the page. User:HannahMontanaFan

Should we contact support over this? RMV2003 (talk) 03:07, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

I think that's a good idea. Yes we should! User:HannahMontanaFan

licenses

I added loads of file licenses just now, and you'll see them in Special:Upload from a dropdown (and can customize from MediaWiki:Licenses). The licenses are very different from those on mariowiki, and are actually lifted from Final Fantasy Wiki on Fandom but with a Mario theme/spin added to it :) RMV2003 (talk) 03:24, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Cool! Nice Work! I did get a couple of the templates myself from Wikia as well, (such as the delete template and the non-canon one). User:HannahMontanaFan

I changed the non canon template because the large light blue box felt visually distracting. obv, because this is your wiki, feel free to revert in the end. also, what's with the image in Template:Delete? RMV2003 (talk) 06:00, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

I added the image to give the template some decoration, it was used on the SML Wikia's Delete Template many years ago, it has since been changed and can't be found anywhere else. I thought the image looked funny so I used it here. As for the Non-Canon Template, I got that from Smurfs Wikia. I just added the Flower icon to it myself. User:HannahMontanaFan

I guess the thing about the Delete template's image is that it's unrelated to Mario, so it would prob work better as a personal image. RMV2003 (talk) 14:37, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Pokemon

Are you someone who plays Pokemon? i'm just curious RMV2003 (talk) 00:41, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Personally, I've never really been a big Pokemon player, I played once but it was very briefly. Most of the non-Mario games I play are also non-Nintendo games too. User:HannahMontanaFan

Would nintendo.miraheze.org still be of interest to you once I adopt & start fresh with new layout akin to this wiki's? RMV2003 (talk) 01:02, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

url changed

looks like url has changed to mario.miraheze.org successfully! RMV2003 (talk) 10:25, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Yep! I was confused as to why the page didn't load but here we are. It's changed! :D User:HannahMontanaFan

Ahhh, that nice alliteration of Mario and Miraheze :) RMV2003 (talk) 10:38, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Oh Yeah! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

sitenotice

Mind if I changed the sitenotice? I didn't intend for it to be permanent -- I just thought it would be nice to clarify to others what this wiki is all about. RMV2003 (talk) 17:26, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Sure! What will you change it to? User:HannahMontanaFan
Did you see above? It says "Hello, and welcome to the Super Mario Wiki! Please note that many of our articles are older revisions from the identically-named wiki at www.mariowiki.com, as one of this wiki's aspects is to reflect the other Super Mario Wiki from their earlier days." RMV2003 (talk) 19:58, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Cool, you could also add the fact that the site preserves more information too but that's entirely your call. User:HannahMontanaFan

What info specifically? RMV2003 (talk) 21:39, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

For some pages (eg. Jolly Roger Bay and Swooper) they are expanded upon. The site also includes variations of pages that aren't on the other site (eg. Blue Podoboo and Chain Chomp (partner)). User:HannahMontanaFan

I know what you mean. The other site likes to merge color variants and subjects that have the same Japanese name but have a different English name. It's interesting. As for Jolly Roger Bay, this revision appears to be from before the missions were split into their own articles. RMV2003 (talk) 22:08, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, I also added the fact that they sky remains dark in the DS remake in Jolly Roger Bay's section. I did have plans to add pages on the missions but they would be more of a strategy section. It is kind of strange that they merge that stuff as what if they merge two completely different creatures? User:HannahMontanaFan

I definitely think the missions could have their own articles while also having the information shown on the Jolly Roger Bay page for ease RMV2003 (talk) 23:04, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Me too, I was planning on giving the mission pages more of a strategy feel (like explaining how to get the Star easier for example). The informations on the pages are the overall layout/terrain of the course in that mission. User:HannahMontanaFan

logo and favicon

Those currently aren't showing up for me, but I let DarkMatterMan4500 know & forward this to the technical support team RMV2003 (talk) 20:31, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

At first the logo wasn't showing up for me but now it is, the favicon on the other hand is still displayed as a bent paper (the default Chrome tab). User:HannahMontanaFan

Splitting subjects by franchise

I wanted to ask you something -- would it be ok if we split certain subjects based on whether they're in Mario, Yoshi, Wario, or Donkey Kong series? For example, the Rope article could be a disambiguation to ropes in the Mario series or Ropes in the Donkey Kong series. RMV2003 (talk) 15:57, 6 November 2021 (UTC) That could work, sure! User:HannahMontanaFan

Low activity

Hi sorry for low activity. I've been working on some other wikis in meantime (and I said I'm on mariowiki.com more often than your wiki, but I still check recent changes here daily) but the main reason is because I've been waiting to adopt nintendo.miraheze.org (I filed the request 2 weeks ago & am still waiting...) RMV2003 (talk) 16:57, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Okay Cool! I understand if you can't frequent this site but feel free to edit here whenever you choose! I do appreciate the stuff you have done for the site! It's really helped! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

I am very glad you like it! I'm sure we'll have a great holiday season :) RMV2003 (talk) 21:50, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

I do indeed! I'm sure of that too! :D User:HannahMontanaFan

Nintendo Wiki open for editing

I managed to get a Miraheze stuff member to open and unlock Nintendo Miraheze for editing. I made the very first article here. RMV2003 (talk) 16:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Nice! User:HannahMontanaFan
Hopefully all goes well & I can make the design a direct parallel to that of this wiki's. RMV2003 (talk) 21:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

New articles

Check recent changes -- I made a few originally written Donkey Kong-related articles :D RMV2003 (talk) 18:03, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Nice Work! :D User:HannahMontanaFan
Are you ok if I changed the favicon to a Mushroom sprite from the Mario 1 remake for Super Mario All-Stars? RMV2003 (talk) 19:55, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Main page buttons

Hi, do you want me to redesign the main page with unique-looking button images? I saw them used on MarioWikia once, and I could make unique images for here if you'd like.

For example: RMV2003 (talk) 15:54, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Perfect I did get a couple concepts from Mario Wikia. Those would definitely work, the current buttons are based on the ones on the Mario Kart Wikia but recolored but yeah, those look great! User:HannahMontanaFan
Okay, I'll see what I can do RMV2003 (talk) 20:39, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Check the front page now. Some stuff like Mario TV, Mario RPGs were taken off (they can be readded if you'd like -- I'll prob make icons for them as well), but I hope you like how the Main Page looks! :) RMV2003 (talk) 21:45, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Nice! Looks good! You have done super well! I would appreciate adding the icons for the sub-series' as well. User:HannahMontanaFan
I'll get to that. Sry for removing them -- it took some effort doing the other icons, so I needed to take a pause before getting to some of the other ones RMV2003 (talk) 00:05, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
Okay I added some more spinoff icons. Thank you for the increased administrator rights btw :) RMV2003 (talk) 00:44, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
No Problem and Nice work! :D User:HannahMontanaFan

SSB item page -- Bombchu

Does this look good to you? RMV2003 (talk) 18:46, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Looks Great! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

nintendo.miraheze.org -- I'm now a bureaucrat

Hi, I'm just letting you know that I'm now a bureaucrat on nintendo wiki. Want to be affiliates? Also, under Special:ManageWiki/extensions (parser hooks) click the CSS option so that we can customize this wiki's appearance. RMV2003 (talk) 15:42, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

Sure! We can be affiliates! :) User:HannahMontanaFan
Awesome, I just added you :D By the way did you enable the CSS extension for this wiki, as the CSS does not work unless it's enabled. RMV2003 (talk) 00:34, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
Oops! I forgot, I've mainly been busy but I will get right to it. UPDATE: Just did it now! User: HannahMontanaFan
For some reason my design changes to common.css and monobook.css didn't go through. Want to ask a steward about this? Also, check out how Nintendo Wiki now looks -- it has a real throwback appearance. I helped DarkMatterMan4500 with designing his wiki as well. :D RMV2003 (talk) 19:08, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Sure! And I am loving the look, it's a classic (like the 80's and 90's even though that was way before my time) :) User:HannahMontanaFan

hi, are you still around?

Just checking in :) RMV2003 (talk) 23:48, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

I'm still here, I've just been busy with other things but rest assured I am still around! :) User:HannahMontanaFan
Busy with finals? RMV2003 (talk) 00:58, 16 Christmas 2021 (UTC)
Yes! User:HannahMontanaFan

Christmas

Hold on, why is December listed as Christmas on this wiki (e.g. 1 Christmas 2021). It could be confusing at first to some. RMV2003 (talk) 20:37, 1 Christmas 2021 (UTC)

I did that to make it more unique, The SuperMarioGlitchy4 Wiki once had theirs listed as Christmas as well. That's what inspired me to do it here. User:HannahMontanaFan
Ohhhh I see :) RMV2003 (talk) 22:00, 3 Christmas 2021 (UTC)

two more affiliates

Hi, so I created Smash Bros. Wiki and Pokemon Wiki a few days ago. Also, Nintendo Wiki's url has been updated to thenintendowiki.org but is still on Miraheze. Can they all be affiliates as well? Thank you. :) Also, want to ask Dark Matter Man if Kirby Encyclopedia can also be an affiliate? RMV2003 (talk) 18:09, 14 Christmas 2021 (UTC)

Yes they can! :) User:HannahMontanaFan
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! :D RMV2003 (talk) 01:45, 15 Christmas 2021 (UTC)

I made a few edits

I just made a few edits. Help pages have not yet been made, but I got rid of the red link as it was bothering me. RMV2003 (talk) 03:53, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Nice! Sorry I haven't been around lately, just been busy with a bit of work. Once that's cleared though, I will definitely be more active! User:HannahMontanaFan
Actually update I did a lot of help pages. I reused a lot of dead/unused ones from the Final Fantasy Wikia RMV2003 (talk) 17:09, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Nice Work! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

Fanon namespace

Oh can you please make a Fanon namespace for like flash games and so forth? I'd greatly appreciate that, thank you :D RMV2003 (talk) 15:24, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Sure! How can I do that again? User:HannahMontanaFan
Go to Special:ManageWiki/namespaces. RMV2003 (talk) 18:15, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
I made an edit, it should be there! User:HannahMontanaFan

wiki activity

Hi, is this wiki still active? I haven't seen edits here in a long while. If you lost interest in developing it, I could become a bureaucrat to try and revive this wiki because I have more ideas how to make it more original. Bawitdaba (talk) 18:14, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

I haven't particularly lost interest in it as of yet, I've just been really busy with other things and it did take a toll on my activity. But sure I could totally give you admin rights and you could help revive the site! :) User:HannahMontanaFan
I am already a temporary administrator -- I was talking about bureaucrat, if that makes sense. Bawitdaba (talk) 01:16, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
Also, Gadgets extension needs to be enabled, as I've added several CSS-related gadgets to this wiki. Bawitdaba (talk) 04:44, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
Sure, I could give you the rights! Also, what happened with Verdana? User:HannahMontanaFan
Ohhhh sorry I must've accidentally overwritten it. One sec Bawitdaba (talk) 10:04, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
Ok it should be back now. Also, I feel a bit bad for removing the time expiration of the rights (come to think of it), as I felt I should've run that past you first. Bawitdaba (talk) 10:21, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the rights Bawitdaba (talk) 10:35, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

Mariopedia rebrand

Would you be interested in rebranding this wiki to Mariopedia? If you'd like, I even have the mariopedia.org domain that I can attach to this Miraheze wiki Bawitdaba (talk) 19:51, April 25, 2022 (UTC)

Sure! We could do that! User:HannahMontanaFan
Do you like some of the gadgets that I've added, like the recent changes refresh and staff highlights? I can make Mariopedia logos just like the Super Mario Wiki one at the top-right Bawitdaba (talk) 12:47, April 26, 2022 (UTC)
They look awesome! :) User:HannahMontanaFan

three settings

is it ok if i request Miraheze to add these three settings to your wiki's localsettings:

$wgDefaultUserOptions['thumbsize'] = 3;

$wgDefaultUserOptions['usenewrc'] = 0;

$wgDefaultUserOptions['rcenhancedfilters-disable'] = 1;

This will switch us back to the old recent changes and fix the issue where your wiki has huge thumbnails. Bawitdaba (talk) 19:02, April 26, 2022 (UTC)

Sure! User:HannahMontanaFan
Again, thank you so much for creating this wiki for me and a few others & allowing us to customize to this extent. An old Mario Wiki (Jorge) user got curious and decided to join (though he'll mainly be observing). Bawitdaba (talk) 05:15, April 27, 2022 (UTC)
That's cool! And no problem, again sorry if I haven't been active as of late. I've been very busy with work and other things and haven't had time to balance multiple sites but I will be sure to edit here whenever I can (which may increase in the future). The site is nearing it's first anniversary so that's also something to look forward to! Again, thanks for your contributions to the site they are most appreciated! :D User:HannahMontanaFan
No prob, we can def look forward to the first anniversary of this great wiki :D Bawitdaba (talk) 12:03, April 27, 2022 (UTC)

mariowiki format

In midst of big changes, i have been adding a lot of the more recent-revision Mario Wiki stuff, including several articles that I wrote & rewrote from there. I've had such a large involvement on mariowiki.com to the point where I even added some documentation for infobox templates (like Species infobox) and rewrote categories. Templates like ratings, media, input -- I've already ported those over to several other wikis that I've made (e.g. crashbandicootwiki.com, smashbroswiki.com). basically, what i'm saying is that I'm synonymous with the Super Mario Wiki style :P Bawitdaba (talk) 01:19, April 28, 2022 (UTC)

Nice! That's pretty cool, I originally implemented the old ones initially as I preferred the aesthetic although what you made is really cool as well! Also, nice work with the template categories! :D User:HannahMontanaFan
Thank you :) I'm still aiming to preserve the aesthetic Bawitdaba (talk) 12:15, April 28, 2022 (UTC)
How does it look on the Krockhead article? I used our distinct template style and the "classic" one for people who like the Mario Wiki design :) Bawitdaba (talk) 13:13, April 28, 2022 (UTC)
Looks good! You did well! :) Did you get the page from an earlier version or the current one? User:HannahMontanaFan
Sorry, thought I responded... I got it from the current version. I rewrote the entire article on the original Super Mario Wiki Bawitdaba (talk) 23:13, May 1, 2022 (UTC)

Miraheze Gaming Services

Do you want this wiki to be part of Miraheze Gaming Services or do you prefer it to remain separate? Bawitdaba (talk) 23:13, May 1, 2022 (UTC)

If possible. That doesn't sound like a bad idea, I may need to decide on it though. Also, I saw you created the Naming Policy page, nice work! One thing, for the names, I decided to mainly stick with the English names (or English translations) as seen on the policy page as this is an English Wiki. User:HannahMontanaFan
Yeah I was trying to explain that same thing on the Naming page -- I adapted it from Mario Wiki (then again, I did on several other wikis as well) and explained that we go by English speakers' interpretation of the subjects rather than the Japanese, even if the games were originally developed in Japan. I actually added that to the Naming policy. Not to mention there's case-by-case basis when it's obvious when two are either the same thing or different. Know what I mean? Bawitdaba (talk) 23:46, May 1, 2022 (UTC)

The wiki

I been editing your wiki pretty much every day. Also, I hope you don't mind I reused the NSMB template from the Super Mario Wiki (but the coloring is different & I use the distinct style, which I also applied to Yoshi's Island DS and Nintendo DS nav templates as well). I did my best to fix up some of the links, and am glad you managed to fix the rest up (as I was worried about accidentally messing up things). Bawitdaba (talk) 23:00, May 16, 2022 (UTC)

It's okay, you can feel free to use it from there and thanks for fixing up the links, in future to make things easier, you could also use the source from the 2014 version of the page (at the Wayback Machine) which is what I did for most of them but that's entirely up to you! Also, Thanks for the work and you're doing great! :) User:HannahMontanaFan
You're welcome -- I have tried to uphold how you, I, and others have wanted this alternative wiki to be based on Mario Wiki in its earlier days. Actually, when I did Mario's Time Machine, I based it on an older version of the Mario Wiki article from around 2014 but included the historical inaccuracies section. I like the idea of "Mario Cinematic Universe" as well -- did you know enemy family trees go between Mario and Zelda (e.g. Manhandlas are actually a type of Piranha Plant) & there are semi-recurring Mario enemies in Zelda like Thwomp, making them Zelda enemies too, just at a lesser extent. So hopefully you don't mind some of the Zelda stuff that I've been adding (I talk of the main meat, which is Mario,Yoshi,Wario,DK franchises, then the related series/franchises, which as of now are Zelda, SSB, Banjo, and Conker in the extended family). The Legend of Zelda (series) article should describe it quite well. Bawitdaba (talk) 23:44, May 16, 2022 (UTC)
I don't mind actually the more the merrier, that's a pretty interesting fact. I wasn't fully aware of that, there are more examples of Zelda enemies being similar to Mario). Again, Thanks for the effort it really goes a long way! :) HannahMontanaFan
Absolutely, I'm glad to help you out. :) We're an island unto ourselves I feel. Also, I think this wiki has been slowly elevating in Google search, but is still yet to be among one of the first results. Bawitdaba (talk) 01:38, May 17, 2022 (UTC)

Poop

I made an article on Poop (recovered from a deleted Mario Wiki article) because, while it might seem off-putting for certain readers and attract spam, it does have relevance to Mario and its related franchises and series. Also, both Conker's Bad Fur Day and Conker: Live & Reloaded are Mature-rated. Should we have an "inappropriate content" template (something like this) and a template that censors swears and other explicit details (but can be clicked on to reveal the uncensored word)? Mario is generally a family-friendly franchise, but we can't deny that there have been a few inappropriate moments within it. What the other Mario wiki does poorly is censor it for family-friendly audiences but still provide a way to see the stuff uncensored. I remember trying to compromise on that a few years ago (I'm not against censorship in the slightest -- I just want to accommodate both types & even did a Conker wiki in the past). Bawitdaba (talk) 14:21, May 20, 2022 (UTC)

Sure, you can feel free to add it but a template at the page's top will do! :) HannahMontanaFan

Current mario wiki

I'm glad you allow me to reuse some of the current revision of Mario Wiki stuff because they have some ongoing proposals to make the site less colorful, and this would include the removal of their DKtable for Donkey Kong-related articles. Building upon that, they are trying to make the use of colors more restrictive. I agree that we should present the content comfortably but not at such a technical level. I made a Rare Ltd. article just now, and I used the latest revision but have been switching it up a bit to make more original for Mariopedia (like how the list table is dark blue like Rare). :) Bawitdaba (talk) 14:58, May 22, 2022 (UTC)

It depends on the scenario really. I know they did not like their old Luigi's Mansion articles because it read too much like a story. It is true that one should keep thing encyclopedic generally (depends on the wiki's rules, for the most part). Example is when they removed info from the Parlor (LM GCN) article in Nov 2012 -- then i think the revision could be more based on from then. Bawitdaba (talk) 15:09, May 22, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! You are more than welcome to add all the colorful stuff to this wiki. I usually try to go for the earlier versions as the content is more plentiful (at least to me) but if the current version is endangered, that can be used as well. I personally don't have an issue with the story-read pages either, that can be used as well if you choose! HannahMontanaFan
You're welcome -- earlier versions also, imo, provide opportunity to become more original. When they talking about trimming "flowery writing" they accidentally remove info in the process (e.g. in that Parlor article I linked). Bawitdaba (talk) 23:14, May 22, 2022 (UTC)

Species nav templates

I'm thinking we could make a subcategory of navigation templates pertaining to the particular species. For example, Snifits and Pokeys. There are characters listed within the species nav templates, but ultimately it pertains to the species themselves. Bawitdaba (talk) 12:06, May 24, 2022 (UTC)

That could work, I previously made a couple myself, sure you can! :) HannahMontanaFan
Thank you for fixing the Goomba one -- I know you know more about Mario and Yoshi-related names than me (especially from making around 800 or so articles on this wiki) so I was going to need your help regardless. There is an underline redirects gadget that I added from MarioWiki that highlights/underlines redirect links (see preferences) so that's sometimes helped me with fixing the naming links around the wiki. Bawitdaba (talk) 12:15, May 25, 2022 (UTC)
No problem and nice! That would come in handy! :D HannahMontanaFan

Special surprise!

Look at the background image that I designed for Mariopedia! In two days, Mario Wiki is going to have their monobook background changed to this, so this will further contribute to the classic MarioWiki-inspired feel of Mariopedia. Bawitdaba (talk) 20:51, May 25, 2022 (UTC)

Looks good! I'm lovin' it! :D HannahMontanaFan
Thank you! :) Bawitdaba (talk) 15:14, June 7, 2022 (UTC)

PipeProjects

I restored the PipeProjects from Mario Wiki, which has been abandoned by them since March 2012, on to your wiki. The wiki is quite messy at the moment, so part of why I decided to resurrect it is in hopes that it would organize projects to tidy it up a bit Bawitdaba (talk) 15:14, June 7, 2022 (UTC)

Cool, that could work! :) HannahMontanaFan
I don't know if you've seen, but a lot of content has been in the process of being removed from MarioWiki as of late (like sections in the Mario article, they're voting to remove/trim Game & Watch coverage, and so forth), so a lot of that stuff has been in danger of deletion & I've wanted to preserve the page histories here, if that makes sense. Bawitdaba (talk) 22:53, June 7, 2022 (UTC)
It sure does, if anything seems like it is in danger of being deleted/merged or etc. feel free to add it here! Any information is welcome! :) HannahMontanaFan
Much appreciated. :) You have done me, DarkMatterMan, and others an enormous favor by working so hard to make this wiki a reality. Bawitdaba (talk) 02:05, June 8, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! :) HannahMontanaFan
No problemoooooo :D Bawitdaba (talk) 12:28, June 8, 2022 (UTC)

Conjecture

No prob if you removed that SMB Encyclopedia part of the template. I think it would be kind of amusing if we listed the name origins of some of the stuff. Like in Trivia section or something we say "the name originated from [x] and [x]" or something Bawitdaba (talk) 00:09, June 11, 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm gonna agree with you on using encyclopedia names. In my opinion, I think that book was unfairly trashed. Paper Jorge (talk)
@Paper Jorge: I own a hard copy of the SMB Encyclopedia. Back in the day I got it a a joke & becaus I wanted to see how much they took from Mario Wiki & I wanted to imagine a MarioWiki in the style of Zelda Wiki and how that would've looked, with citation templates and all (I even imagined a Mario Wiki parodying Zeldapedia -- called Mariopedia -- though the title became a reality here :P). Now even if there's something like name-pulling from MarioWiki that might conflict with other uses of a name (no immediate examples come to mind), I think we can clarify it in the article. Bawitdaba (talk) 01:14, June 11, 2022 (UTC)
That could work, we could list the names in Trivia, I've done a bit of that as you may've seen on the Fire Bar page. Also, I agree Paper Jorge, the book did get of unfair distaste, I got my own copy and while some names were copied, some were also taken from the instruction booklets (like the Super Mario Bros. chapter). HannahMontanaFan

Am I fulfilling your wiki vision?

Slowly but surely this wiki is gradually receiving its own identity Bawitdaba (talk) 02:55, June 13, 2022 (UTC)

Nice work! Yes you sure are! I have also given you permanent admin rights! :) HannahMontanaFan
Thank you I appreciate it :D Are the Mario fandom wikis going alright (I see you also on Mario Kart fandom)? Looks like on Mario Fandom you did some originally written sections for the Magmaargh article, such as Mario Golf: Super Rush Bawitdaba (talk) 11:41, June 13, 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! They're doing pretty well. I've been expanding many of the pages (as well as adding new images), it can be easy and tough deciding what to expand next. I've been on the Mario Kart Wiki for some time now (currently an admin there), there's quite a bit of history of my time on there. HannahMontanaFan
Mario Fandom wiki doesn't have a Baby Cheep article yet, so you might want to create that next I think :) Bawitdaba (talk) 23:17, June 13, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the idea! Will do! :) HannahMontanaFan
You are welcome :D Bawitdaba (talk) 00:45, June 14, 2022 (UTC)

Fanon namespace

I saw you mention that Fanon is not allowed, but there is the Fanon namespace (see Mariopedia:Scope). I was just wondering your take on this. Bawitdaba (talk) 12:29, June 14, 2022 (UTC)

Initially (when I first made the site), I considered against having Fanon but having it in separate namespaces should be fine. Just so long as it isn't used outside said namespaces. HannahMontanaFan
This definitely makes sense. I wouldn't want it mixed in with official content either. Bawitdaba (talk) 21:25, June 14, 2022 (UTC)

Hello :)

I'm busy working on creating some navigation templates for some of the Super Mario series games (I already published Super Mario Galaxy one) and am hoping you'll check over them once I'm done. :) Bawitdaba (talk) 18:28, June 23, 2022 (UTC)

I just now made nav templates for NSMBW and NSMB2. Bawitdaba (talk) 20:43, June 23, 2022 (UTC)
Nice work! Now it should be easier for users to get from page to page! I also previously created a couple for YIDS and SM64 / SM64DS! HannahMontanaFan
Just in: SMG2 and SM3DL template created too! :DDDDDDDDD Bawitdaba (talk) 21:49, June 23, 2022 (UTC)
Also, you're welcome I'm happy to help. :) Last nav temp for today: NSMBU, so now all NSMB titles have a nav template! Bawitdaba (talk) 22:11, June 23, 2022 (UTC)
Nice, Love it! :) HannahMontanaFan
Ty -- is the naming ok for all these templates? I also moved a couple of articles based on some observation with MarioWiki.com & MarioWikia naming for the articles (I tried taking a close look), so feel free to revert in case I got anything wrong. Bawitdaba (talk) 03:39, June 24, 2022 (UTC)
I haven't got around to modifying those yet but I will when I get the chance, as far as the name changes go, you got most right however I did correct a couple but great job! :) HannahMontanaFan
Thank you, I tried my best :) Bawitdaba (talk) 13:21, June 24, 2022 (UTC)

Chomps

I remodeled the Chomp article based on the latest MarioWiki revision before it was merged with Chain Chomp. The opening section I restyled by myself, especially to clarify that Chomps and Chain Chomps, while sometimes ambiguous, are separate on distinct occasions. Bawitdaba (talk) 15:13, June 24, 2022 (UTC)

Great Job! I kind of forgot that the page was merged when I created it. :) HannahMontanaFan
Thank you :) And yeah I don't agree with the fact that it was merged. Interesting how a recurring Mario enemy debuted in Zelda, isn't it? Also, I hope you like The Legend of Zelda article that I made. It's from Triforce Wiki (I wrote some parts of it a few years ago), and I added a "Connections to Mario" section. Bawitdaba (talk) 21:45, June 24, 2022 (UTC)
Nice job! You did pretty well there! :) Also, why was it merged?! HannahMontanaFan
Appreciated -- see why I think Zelda can fit into a Mario wiki? The enemy families carry over from Mario to Zelda (not so much the other way around, however). Also, as for why Chomp article was merged on the MarioWiki, see here. I only remembered it just now and remember not agreeing with it Bawitdaba (talk) 22:11, June 24, 2022 (UTC)
Looking at it now, I also disagree with the reasons as well. Also, it is pretty cool to see Mario enemies appear in Zelda as well. Again, Nice work with the page! :) HannahMontanaFan
Appreciated -- a group of folks having disagreements on how certain subjects are handled are part of why we have wikis like this, complete with unique branding and identity. It's kind of like inside one inherently knows that things (e.g. Chomps and Chain Chomps being separate, therefore separate articles). Bawitdaba (talk) 22:36, June 24, 2022 (UTC)

NSMB2 article

ok so I've made an NSMB2 article here, and it based on a July 2014 revision of the Mario Wiki article. How does it look? Bawitdaba (talk) 02:15, June 25, 2022 (UTC)

Looks Good! :) HannahMontanaFan

Incredible

I was just thinking to myself that we need separate pages for the types of goop. Whenever I see subsections of "Names in other languages" I take that as a sign that the article needs to be split. Bawitdaba (talk) 23:21, June 25, 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! Plus it could really increase what we can put in each of the pages. HannahMontanaFan
I'm still to get to splitting Prankster Comets, Nozzles, and Nozzle boxes into own articles. Bawitdaba (talk) 23:51, June 25, 2022 (UTC)
Those would work as well. I am also for making pages on Invisible Luigi and Metal Wario (from Super Mario 64 DS) as well. For some time, I've had plans to make those pages. HannahMontanaFan
Thank you -- those are forms with a distinct identity, so I'm glad that you're making individual articles for them :) Bawitdaba (talk) 12:13, June 26, 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! :) HannahMontanaFan

DKpedia

While it may seem unnecessary, I founded a complimentary wiki a few days ago called DKpedia, which is like this wiki but focuses particularly on Donkey Kong & related franchises, or stuff within the Mario franchise from the perspective of Donkey Kong (e.g. the DK minigames in Mario Party 7). Hopefully you're cool with that :) Bawitdaba (talk) 00:16, July 9, 2022 (UTC)

Of course I am, it could be used as a sister wiki for this one maybe. :) HannahMontanaFan
Ohhh yea, could we make it so? Thank you :) Then there's also DarkMatter's Luigi's Mansion Wiki Bawitdaba (talk) 11:26, July 9, 2022 (UTC)
Nice! Both wikis can be sister wikis! HannahMontanaFan

America

Hi, how are some of these America-themed articles that I've made? Particularly the Joe Biden one -- it's not supposed to be political, but he did play Mario Kart Arcade GP DX before in 2021. I just wanted to be sure that I'm not going too far with the coverage. I know you've said "the more the merrier," and I've also enjoyed myself adding our unique country infobox to the United States of America article. I talk about Mario in-universe and in the real world. While Mario is a fictional franchise, it's real in my heart -- some franchises have a way of doing that. Bawitdaba (talk) 16:43, July 11, 2022 (UTC)

That should be fine, as long as it doesn't get too political. Also, I'm the same, I feel it's real in my heart as well. HannahMontanaFan

Goop

I think you said you planned to split the different types of goop into their own articles. I got a start on the main type of goop. I used the MarioWiki one as a basis but made sure to distinguish it from graffiti, as the two are not the same thing. Bawitdaba (talk) 20:04, July 15, 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply, it's a good start, also, we can split the Goop and Graffiti as the two are considerably different substances that Shadow Mario uses. HannahMontanaFan
Yeah they are. If you check the Graffiti article, I did my best to clarify the distinction with Graffiti in its opening section. Bawitdaba (talk) 10:15, July 16, 2022 (UTC)
Nice Work! :) HannahMontanaFan

Banana / Banana Peel / Banana Bunch

I did my best to distinguish their appearances within the main Mario,Yoshi,Wario franchises (DK -- I might do here or on DKpedia, depends). I've been on a roll with distinguishing :) Bawitdaba (talk) 19:37, July 16, 2022 (UTC)

Good Job! The Bananas do function differently in each franchise. :) HannahMontanaFan

Another nav temp

Mind checking accuracy of Template:YI? I just created this navtemp. Bawitdaba (talk) 19:26, August 11, 2022 (UTC)

Sure! HannahMontanaFan
Thank you so much Bawitdaba (talk) 03:11, August 12, 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! :) HannahMontanaFan

Mario Portal

There's new English-translated names for several of the Super Mario 64 enemies, among other pages, on the Mario Portal. Would this affect how we handle naming on this wiki? Bawitdaba (talk) 10:28, August 13, 2022 (UTC)

I will have to check the page, for some reason, the page won't load for me. Is it possible to show some screenshots? Thanks! :) UPDATE: Just checked it on Archive.org, I would only use those names if there is no other way. Maybe they could work as a last resort. HannahMontanaFan

Chomp / Chain Chomp

So I made article on Big Chain Chomp & expanded the Chomp Shark article. Although some would want to say otherwise, Chomp Sharks are essentially identified separately from Big Chain Chomps. Sometimes Japanese names would want to call ordinary Chomps "Chain Chomps," and there's been lot of confusion over this. The way I go about it is simply "if it has a chain, then it's a Chain Chomp; if it does not, then it's a Chomp" -- it's just like how if Mario jumps on a Paratroopa it becomes a regular Koopa Troopa, know what I mean? Bawitdaba (talk) 12:40, August 19, 2022 (UTC)

Nice work! They are technically separate (eg. the Big Chain Chomps in Super Princess Peach are clearly different from the Chomp Sharks from Yoshi's Island DS.) but yeah, I know what you mean. It doesn't necessarily make them the same enemy just because they share the same name (like we've seen enemies share the same names in English but they're still technically different). Good Work again! :) HannahMontanaFan
I actually ended up splitting the Super Princess Peach enemy from Chomp Shark upon closer inspection. Thank you for appreciating my work by the way -- have you seen the Spiny Cheep Cheep article? I made sure Puffer Fish gets own article... it's very clearly not a Spiny Cheep Cheep. Do you also see why I decided to make Mario Advance 4 its own navtemp? Also, I actually hav a fair collection of guides for naming-related purposes, esp if there's no present scans online Bawitdaba (talk) 13:08, August 20, 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! The ones in SPP are clearly regular Big Chain Chomps especially as they are referred to as such in-game, also yes I have seen the Spiny Cheep Cheep page. It looks great! And yeah, the Puffer Fish is obviously not a Spiny Cheep Cheep as they don't look or even act the same, they're two different types of fish. Also, the SMA4 Template looks great, the game is fit for it's own template! :) HannahMontanaFan

Square, Sega, and Rare news

Hi, so I managed to adopt Squarewiki, as well as Rarewiki (back in June) on Fandom. I just thought you'd think that's cool -- Square did a Mario RPG title before, among a few other things. There's a Birdo article on my Square Enix wiki, for example.

Oh and awesome news -- I began a Sega Wiki a couple of days ago, and it's based on the mariowiki. Here's the Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog articles, to list two examples. Bawitdaba (talk) 17:04, September 2, 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply, nice! We could partner those wikis with this one! HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:08, September 3, 2022 (UTC)
Will do Bawitdaba (talk) 14:01, September 4, 2022 (UTC)

Permission for something

Hi, so I was wondering if we could have a Yoshi: and Wario: namespace, even DK: perhaps, and corresponding templates. What this would mean is, for instance, if the article were Yoshi:Shy Guy, it would provide information on Shy Guys from the perspective of the Yoshi franchise & focus on filling in the sections of those who want to mainly focus on their role within the Yoshi franchise + cite Mario franchise if their appearances based on, let's say, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island found its way back into the main Mario franchise. I drafted up a Shy Guy article from the perspective of Yoshi franchise, if you'd like to take a look. Bawitdaba (talk) 17:43, September 3, 2022 (UTC)

That sounds like a good idea, it could really help this wiki stand out more! HannahMontanaFan (talk) 08:21, September 4, 2022 (UTC)
I'll get to work on it :) Bawitdaba (talk) 14:07, September 4, 2022 (UTC)
Take a look at Yoshipedia:Shy Guy again -- you're going to love the unique customizations that I did for the Yoshipedia namespace alone :D Bawitdaba (talk) 17:35, September 4, 2022 (UTC)
Nice work! You really did well there! :) HannahMontanaFan (talk) 11:39, September 5, 2022 (UTC)
Thank you...here's one on Monty Mole (sry if the Shy Guy one look unfinished -- it was testing & still need more filled in). Bawitdaba (talk) 12:14, September 5, 2022 (UTC)
Good Job! There's always time, we could fill the missed parts in. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:09, September 5, 2022 (UTC)

I introduced a person to this place

I brought along the Monty Mole dude Bawitdaba (talk) 13:02, September 5, 2022 (UTC)

Nice Work! :) HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:09, September 5, 2022 (UTC)

Chubby

Hi, I was wondering if the Chubby page should be deleted? It was only a name given to Monty Mole in the Mario Kart 64 instruction booklet and not really much beyond that. I am pretty sure it was just referring to Chubby as just the Monty Moles in the general area. Also, I don’t think the Monty Moles in the one Mario Kart DS mission were meant to be Chubby, probably just generic Monty Moles. So yeah, I don’t usually want to delete pages, but this page can have all of its info on the Mario Kart 64 section of the main Monty Mole page. So is it cool if we delete it? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 16:45, September 5, 2022 (UTC)

I initially thought the same but upon hindsight (and analysis from an old friend (BananasAreAnnoying)), the instruction booklet does refer to Chubby as one specific Monty Mole rather than that being the name for his whole species so that's why there's a page on him as well. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:09, September 5, 2022 (UTC)
I know, but the page is not really all that needed cause it was just a nickname given to a singular Monty Mole in the instruction booklet (and considering there is multiple we do not even know which Monty Mole is Chubby to begin with). I personally think that the Chubby page can be removed since all the info for Chubby is already on the main Monty Mole page. If we do keep the Chubby page, mind cleaning up the info for it and removing the Mario Kart DS stuff, since we don’t even know if Chubby returns in Mario Kart DS. And if you were wondering, no other official sources besides the instruction booklet even refers to any of the Monty Moles as Chubby. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:05, September 6, 2022 (UTC)

Things coming together

Things really are coming together for us, aren't they? We have a little mini-community here already, we are coming up with new ideas, and so forth Bawitdaba (talk) 12:13, September 9, 2022 (UTC)

Indeed they are! Let's keep this good thing going! :D HannahMontanaFan (talk) 21:40, September 9, 2022 (UTC)

Monty Mole stuff

Hi, I was wondering if there is any Monty Mole species stuff I can do right now? Also what is up with the name of Podoboo/Lava Bubble? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 19:37, September 10, 2022 (UTC)

You seem to've done pretty well so far so good job there! As for your second question, what do you mean? HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:34, September 10, 2022 (UTC)
I mean what is with the weird usage of having Podoboo being named Lava Bubble or something on Super Mario Wiki but other wikis call them Podoboo. I think Super Mario Maker called them lava bubbles to. Also, know anyone who can translate Japanese or wanna help find someone who can? I want help translating the Monty Mole manga stuff. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:40, September 10, 2022 (UTC)
Also what do you think the Monty Mole strip here meant to mean?: https://www.marioboards.com/threads/45354/ MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:41, September 10, 2022 (UTC)
I'm not too sure why the Super Mario Wiki did it as that, they did have it as Podoboo back in 2012 (and even before then) but they renamed it for some reason in late January 2013 (this was obviously before Super Mario Maker even came out). Super Mario Maker did use a couple simplified names like it called the Blurp (as well as Deep Cheep) a Cheep Cheep, the Strech a Boo, and the Starman a Star. Other wikis (like this one and Mario Wikia prefer to use the traditional names). The names "Podoboo" and "Lava Bubble" appear to be used interchangeably with eachother as the names "Paratroopa" and "Koopa Paratroopa" are. As for the comic, looks like some kind of riddle, I'm not 100% sure. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:44, September 10, 2022 (UTC)
What about my Japanese translation question? Oh and anything Monty Mole related you want to talk about or discuss? Oh and should the Super Mario-kun fall variant enemies have pages? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:57, September 10, 2022 (UTC)
Hi, do you know anyone who can help translate Japanese? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 02:41, September 17, 2022 (UTC)
I just messaged my old friend BananasAreAnnoying on the Mario Kart Wiki, here's hoping he responds. If not, he will probably see the message when he returns. I'm sure he'll help out, he knows a lot about this kind of stuff! HannahMontanaFan (talk) 05:50, September 17, 2022 (UTC)
Oh cool thanks. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 14:54, September 17, 2022 (UTC)
Oh I was wondering where you messaged BananasAreAnnoying and also when was the last time they were online? Just wondering. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 06:37, September 18, 2022 (UTC)
I messaged him on the Mario Kart Wiki (you probably saw that) and the last time he was online from what I can see was on November 20, 2021 (four days before I returned). He does tend to take periodic lengthly breaks from what I can see so I have a feeling he'll be back. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 08:35, September 18, 2022 (UTC)

AUS guide?

There's differences within the Australian guide for NSMB Wii? Bawitdaba (talk) 11:24, September 25, 2022 (UTC)

There's several. A couple examples include (as I mentioned in the summary earlier) that the Mechakoopas are called "Mechakoopas" unlike the American version where they're called "Windup Koopas", there are also a couple other differences too such as the "Sky Ships" being called "Airships" (and "Giant Airships" on one page), the "Propellorhead Mushroom" being called the "Propellor Mushroom", and so on. I purchased my guide from Australia in early 2010 and I noticed a couple differences when I brought another copy while in the USA a year or so later. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 13:20, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Oh so you're an Aussie? That's pretty cool! Australian gaming needs better documentation, as it's often overlooked because English language like American gaming (whereas UK gaming often has different western European languages present on it as an option as well). I know for a fact Pokemon Crystal in Australia removed gambling references. Bawitdaba (talk) 13:25, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Was there any Monty Mole species differences in the Australian guide or was it the same in both regions? Also, the only Monty Mole species differences that happened regionally from my knowledge is the European version of Paper Mario: Sticker Star calling the wrenches that Rocky Wrench throw as spanners (though I am curious if the big wrenches they throw in Sticker Star and Color Splash have a name). The only official English Monty Mole stuff I found not from America were some descriptions from the Nintendo Official Magazine from the UK. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 14:50, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, yes for the most part the Australian version appears to be copied from the British English versions and yes we could add the stuff mentioned to the article, I own Australian and American versions for most games so I could point out several regional differences between games in the articles. And yes, I am from Australia, I also have residence in the USA as well (but it's mainly in and out) which is how I managed to get some of the USA versions as well (like for example, I own both the American and Australian versions of Paper Mario: Sticker Star and there's more regional differences than you'd think). HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:57, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Ok cool, mind helping add some descriptions of Monty Mole species from guidebooks into the profile and statistics sections/pages if that is cool with you? Also, what differences did Rocky Wrench have in the Australian version of Sticker Star (like did the wrench sticker have a different description)? Speaking of that game, is there any official name for the big wrenches that Rocky Wrench throws in Sticker Star and Color Splash? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:05, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
They're probably considered larger wrenches by the game but in real life, those appear to be spanners (like how their common weapon is an actual wrench as opposed to a spanner). HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:20, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Well I meant like do the bigger wrenches have an official name in Sticker Star or Color Splash? Also I am pretty sure that the standard wrenches were called spanners in the British English version of the game but I do not know, mind checking for me and also seeing if they have different descriptions? Also, in Paper Mario: The Origami King, the origami Rocky Wrench throw spanners which are just like yellow colored wrenches that are thrown in an arch like the hammers that Hamer Bros. throw. Anyways also about my previous question about helping add Monty Mole species descriptions from various guidebooks (you can also use the Australian descriptions to)? Speaking of which, did the NSMBW Prima guide have a different description for Monty Mole and Rocky Wrench? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:25, September 25, 2022 (UTC)
Another quick question, do you own Mario Strikers Charged? If so, mind helping provide a screenshot that shows like Monty Mole’s skeleton (since their skeleton can technically be seen when Monty Mole is thrown into the electric fence)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:21, September 26, 2022 (UTC)
I recently purchased a copy of the game but haven't got around to playing it yet but when I do, I will check that out. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 05:09, September 27, 2022 (UTC)
Alright cool, also mind helping add more descriptions from guidebooks in the Monty Mole species pages? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 05:11, September 27, 2022 (UTC)

Propeller Shy Guy split

Are you cool with Propeller Shy Guys being split from Fly Guys? Bawitdaba (talk) 00:58, October 3, 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, they seem different enough to warrant a page split. I felt the same with like big Monty Mole and Mega Monty Mole since the two felt completely different and the latter is confirmed to be artificially enlarged by Kamek and the former seems natural. Saying Mega Monty Mole is big Monty Mole could also apply for Big Montgomery who was also a standard Monty Mole enlarged by Kamek. Also, I have been recently rewriting some sections on some of the Monty Mole species pages to make them sound better and to make them more unique from the Super Mario Wiki, what do you think on them? Any other sections I could help rewrite to? Also can the Wiggler pages be updated since they feel a bit rough and some pages don’t really talk about more recent appearances past like the early-mid 2010s appearances. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 02:37, October 3, 2022 (UTC)
Yes those can be split, they have several differences enough to warrant a split just as the Mega Piranha Plants and Piranhacus Giganticus do as well as the aforementioned Mega Monty Moles and Big Monty Moles. Also, yes the Wiggler pages can be updated. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 08:10, October 3, 2022 (UTC)
Cool, also are you willing to help provide a screenshot for Monty Mole being electrocuted in Mario Strikers Charged since I seen nothing online showing that animation for Monty Mole. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 21:45, October 3, 2022 (UTC)

some original discoveries

iirc you love the New Super Mario Bros. series titles. I made a page on the Balloon Racing minigame from New Super Mario Bros., and I discovered quite a bit of unique things if you want to take a look. Bawitdaba (talk) 18:00, October 4, 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply, the page looks awesome. It's bigger than the one the SMW has. I remember playing the minigame heaps back in 2008 and not knowing how to play it until later. :P HannahMontanaFan (talk) 06:20, October 5, 2022 (UTC)
Oh wow, you did? So a nice throwback? :O :DDDDDDD Bawitdaba (talk) 11:08, October 5, 2022 (UTC)
Also HM Fan, it still has been a while and we found nobody who can help translate Japanese, mind continuing to find someone to help? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:16, October 5, 2022 (UTC)
Oh also, were there ever any regional differences for the Monty Mole species in any of the games or guidebooks? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:34, October 6, 2022 (UTC)
@Bawitdaba Indeed so! :) @MontyMoleLoreMaster Not yet but I will keep a lookout for them. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 00:06, October 7, 2022 (UTC)
Cool, also do you mind adding more Monty Mole species descriptions to the pages from like various guidebooks you own? Also, do you mind still helping find someone who can help translate Japanese since BananasAreAnniying has been inactive for like nearly a year? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:51, October 7, 2022 (UTC)
Also HM Fan, which Mario guidebooks do you own that are games which feature Monty Moles (regional difference ones can be counted to). MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 04:03, October 10, 2022 (UTC)

Grinder/Ukiki

Hi, I was wondering Grinder and Ukiki are considered separate species? Grinders were called Ukiki in Yoshi’s New Island. Also, is Play Nintendo a creditable source since I found them referring to the Presenters from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as Monty Moles. Proof: https://play.nintendo.com/news-tips/tips-tricks/mario-luigi-superstar-saga-bowsers-minions-tips-tricks/ MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 07:18, October 11, 2022 (UTC)

They look similar but have slight differences, not to mention that the Grinders act slightly differently (along with their relatives the Seedy Sallys and Short Fuses). Nintendo Power did state that Grinders and Ukikis are related (but didn't say that they're the same). It could've possibly been a naming oversight (which tends to happen sometimes) like how several guides have mistakingly named the Sledge Bros. as Sumo Bros. As for your other question, I left a reply to that on Wikia (or Fandom). HannahMontanaFan (talk) 09:45, October 11, 2022 (UTC)

King Boo

Okay, so I heavily redid both the King Boo and King Boo (Luigi's Mansion series) articles & tried to be extra careful not to mix up or remove anything you added. Not too long ago I found that they deleted information from the mariowiki.com (earlier this year). It took me a few hours to sort through all the info, and I essentially wrote most of the General information from the ground-up. Hope this helps. Bawitdaba (talk) 00:58, October 14, 2022 (UTC)

Wait so what happened with all the deleted info? Also, what makes the Luigi Mansion King Boo different from the main King Boo? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:09, October 14, 2022 (UTC)
I took the info deleted & rewrote for this wiki. Also, you'll have to ask HMfan, although i do get a hunch that the King Boo from LM series is different -- or at least a standalone counterpart -- of the main King Boo Bawitdaba (talk) 01:31, October 14, 2022 (UTC)
Do they have different names in other languages? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:37, October 14, 2022 (UTC)
@Bawitdaba Nice work! You did extremely well there! :) @MontyMoleLoreMaster Whilst looking similar, the two King Boos are drastically different in appearance (not to mention the crowns they wear are different as well). Additionally, the regular King Boo's personality is no different to that of a regular Boo (he's only stronger) while the LM King Boo is far more evil and is willing to put his own kind at danger just to destroy Luigi. Also, it is shown in the LM games that King Boo is trapped in a painting and he is shown to've escaped to finish what he started shortly before the events of the sequel. If he really did escape just after the events of LM1 (only to somehow escape again even though he was said to already have) what's to stop him from doing exactly what he was doing in the LM games, why with the sudden shift in goals? The regular King Boo doesn't really go anywhere beyond standard villainy and he's merely helping Bowser in most cases where as the LM King Boo goes way beyond that (in fact, he is considered pure evil as well, not to mention that Bowser would never let a pure evil work for him). Additionally, in Mario Kart Tour, Lakitu refers to the LM King Boo as "The King Boo of Luigi's Mansion" rather than a separate outfit like the other character reskins. Additionally, by Nintendo Power and even Nintendo themselves, there hasn't been any indication that the two King Boos are the same (much like how the SMS King Boo is often treated as a separate entity) so that's why they're split. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:33, October 14, 2022 (UTC)
Earlier today I did a Sega Wiki article on King Boo (its Mario & Sonic appearances), though mentioned both on the same page as only one King Boo appear in M&S series but to preserve context of how the Luigi's Mansion King Boo debuted before the general King Boo. not to mention King Boo specifically wanting to rival Luigi in M&S Olympic Winter Games. I know it not on Mariopedia (though I did reuse some my writing from here), but I figured you'd be interested in the approach. Bawitdaba (talk) 22:59, October 14, 2022 (UTC)
@HannahMontanaFan Thanks for answering my question. I also had some questions I asked on your message wall in the Fandom Mario Wiki so do you mind answering those questions? Also, should the moles from Rhythm and Bruise from Super Mario Party get their own page? They are much different from the standard Monty Mole since they are like a plastic version of them. Also, also, does this Wiki primarily use PAL names for some species, just wondering. Also, were there ever any unique PAL region names for certain Monty Mole species or stuff revolving around them? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:11, October 14, 2022 (UTC)

Fawful Express screenshots

Hi, sometime can you provide some screenshots for the Fawful Express in both the original and remake of Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story? Also, can you make sure said screenshots are also high quality? Thanks. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 05:57, October 19, 2022 (UTC)

Hi, are you going to help with the Fawful Express screenshots soon? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:43, October 20, 2022 (UTC)

I know prefer older revisions

I can see why you prefer those (some of the newer revisions have too much in-line Japanese naming references, like the Koopalings article, when they could go in paragraphs instead). But when I reused the latest revision of the Koopalings article, do you believe I know what I'm doing? I trimmed out some of the excessive references in the Bowser article, in case you've missed. Also, seeing as you liked the King Boo work that I did, I figured you'd also appreciate how I've done my best to properly combine all the Mario and Bowser general information that was deleted on the other wiki, as it can be quite the effort at times. Bawitdaba (talk) 13:11, October 19, 2022 (UTC)

They also like merging and removing stuff for no reason (and I heard you mention they ruined the Mega Mole manga sections recently). I usually get info from older revisions sometimes (usually back when I was on the wiki, but I don’t go like too far since there is the stuff like when they call Undergrunts as Monty Mole species and think Rocky Wrench is unrelated in the older revisions that makes my blood boil sometimes. They also used the proven illegitimate source Mario Portal like it is a creditable source for names. Also what do you think of this cause this part of the wiki is really bad in my opinion: https://www.mariowiki.com/Talk:Undergrunt MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 14:44, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Update: I checked the Mega Mole summary and I can tell you how horrible it is. They removed the entirety of Mega Mole’s appearance in the Chocolate Island 4 themed chapter which was a pretty notable part of Mega Mole’s appearance in that volume (prior to that, he treated that section like it was something that came right after the Valley of Bowser 1 chapter but in reality it was like a completely separate chapter). Besides that, it isn’t AS bad as that horrible Monty Mole manga section rewrite, but it just feels like the same sections only with neutered info. Is it just me, or is the Super Mario Wiki too afraid of people not handling long pages that actually have good info and think that the readers are just babies who can’t handle anything that isn’t summarized and butchered. That is what I was planning with the MarioPedia Monty Mole sections, where I expand on the info and not sugar coat or dumb down stuff (that is also why I do a lot of rewrites of some sections or pages to make them sound more natural). I was also initially shocked with that stupid merge they did to the Glorpedo page when I checked the wiki to help get info for making the Glorpedo page for this wiki (since it wasn’t even there when I first saw that page). I hate how the Super Mario Wiki went in shambles and did stupid merges that don’t make sense, summarizing and dumbing down well written sections due to "flowery writing," and sourcing unreliable sources like the English Mario Portal. Anyways, I am also wondering if the enlarged Monty Moles in Wiggler Park in Mario Golf: World Tour are meant to be big Monty Moles or just a separate enlarged Monty Moles (hell, they could just be normal sized Monty Moles that just look bigger due to the character being shrunk or something like with Mario Party DS)? Also what do you guys think of the recent trash Mega Mole manga section summarization that the wiki did recently? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 14:59, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Small bonus addition: I just remembered that the wiki treated Lava Lotus as comparable and not a relative to Piranha Plant DESPITE NINTENDO POWER LITERALLY CALLING THEM A RELATIVE TO PIRANHA PLANT. That is like if Ragumo wasn’t considered a Monty Mole relative on that wiki despite the official sources that confirm that they are. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 15:04, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
"afraid of people not handling long pages that actually have good info and think that the readers are just babies who can’t handle anything that isn’t summarized and butchered" Not just you -- I've been saying this myself. I understand page length issues, but info removal is definitely not a way to go about it. Bawitdaba (talk) 16:10, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Yeah true, trimming down some unneeded info is fine, but removing important events and entire appearances because of bad perspective is dumb. I don’t even think the people who removed all the stuff from the manga sections in the Monty Mole species pages even read the manga in the first place (and are just making poor assumptions). I was wondering, what do you think is the worst thing the Super Mario Wiki has done (both Monty Mole species and not)? Also, did you check the Undergrunt talk page on the Super Mario Wiki cause it is really bad? Any other opinions on what I said. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 16:27, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Convo seems to be getting pretty long here -- I have read the Undergrunt talk page, tho I still don't fully understand the situation (as I'm not as much an expert on it as you) Bawitdaba (talk) 16:33, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Oh ok I can explain. So I made a proposal on seeing if the wiki still thinks the Undergrunts were related to Monty Moles or not. And for some reason most of the people treated it like they were related and had absolutely no solid evidence on them being related (since Undergrunts basically have nothing in common with the Monty Mole species and have no official confirmation on them being the same species). Whenever I made like a solid point, they said something dumb and yet people for some reason more people thought Undergrunts were related to Monty Moles, despite the nonexistent proof. I also don’t know why, but they treated related and comparable like they meant the same thing (which I am pretty sure they don’t). So with this added context, what do you think about the proposal? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 17:07, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
As i said, I don't know much about Undergrunt and Monty Mole, but I take your word for it because you're the Monty Mole expert Bawitdaba (talk) 17:19, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Ok fair, any bad edits that the wiki has done that you want to mention? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 17:36, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
No, and it's probably not a good idea to mention any because I don't want us to dwell on the community there (I'm already uncomfortable about the lengthy response I made on your talk page). Bawitdaba (talk) 17:57, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
That's the primary reason I use the earlier versions of the pages, 2013 was when I feel that the site was at it's greatest (and most informative and expansive), after 2015, I feel it started to drop downward in terms of information and it got worse from there (I witnessed some of the downsizing during my time there in 2016). Also, nice work with the Mario and Bowser page edits, also, I kind of see what you're saying MMLM, stuff like that can be a bit irritating (when they unnecessarily merge pages and remove info and such) in fact, I touched upon that in my blog post I made about the Super Mario Wiki a few years ago. And yeah, I remember them talking about "flowery writing" during my time there, like they're just downsizing the info and making the page less informative. And also, as you mentioned Bawitdaba, from what I can see, the page that has the most info is the one that will attract more viewers, that's why when I make pages, I've been making them as expansive as possible. The Glorpedo merge wasn't the only one they did as well, they also merged the Chain-Link and the Fences from the 2D games despite the two being clearly different along with the uncessary page moves (such as renaming "Ball 'n' Chain" to "Spinner" despite the latter name being in only one (rather unreliable) source, the NSMBU Prima Guide, and later sources (such as the Prima Guides for MK8 and MK8D) using the traditional name) and even ignoring viable sources such as the Prima Guide for MKW as well as the Nintendo Power Magazines (and even some of the guides such as the SMB3 Guide), there's more noteworthy factors but the list goes on. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:51, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
Actually with that last sentence you said, I am honestly curious about examples of that happening. I know that the wiki puts Lava Lotus as comparable to Piranha Plant DESPITE NINTENDO POWER CLEARLY SAYING THAT THEY ARE A RELATIVE TO THEM. I also find it funny how the Super Smash Bros. Brawl trophy for Grand Goomba clearly says that they are completely different from the New Super Mario Bros. Goomba boss. Also, I am extremely curious on your opinion on the older revisions on the Monty Mole species pages, since at that time they incorrectly treated the Undergrunt species like they were 100% Monty Mole species despite the two mole species being completely different. I also know they treated Rocky Wrench like they were not a Monty Mole species despite them saying that Undergrunts were Monty Mole species. Anyways, I would like to hear your opinion on the older revisions of the Monty Mole species pages cause I am genuinely curious. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:00, October 19, 2022 (UTC)
I actually do check edit history when reusing or do my best to make sure I don't accidentally erase any notes. Actually, while I have done a lot here, part of it is me trying to clean up and fill in some of the maintenance errors around the place (as I have several other wikis to tend to) and help this wiki become more successful (not to mention helping out MMLoreMaster). Then there's several articles I recovered from Wayback, such as Elephant, Florida, Kansas & writing some original stuff like Xbox. And then there's also me enjoying myself, like when I styled RPG infoboxes after FFWikia's old ones or the infoboxes after Zeldapedia's (before they closed in 2019) as sometimes the curiosity of "oh how would this look like on a Mario Wiki?" Bawitdaba (talk) 01:08, October 20, 2022 (UTC)
Cool to hear, I also try making the Monty Mole species pages have as much info as possible and also restoring all the stuff the Super Mario Wiki removed for no reason. I also made pages on unique Monty Mole characters/species like the Golden Monty Moles from Mario Party 6 and the Ghost Monty Moles from volumes 4 and 55 of Super Mario-kun. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:24, October 20, 2022 (UTC)

The big edits

Hi, just wanted to apologize for if some my edits, like the Princess Peach one, are too big. A lot of info has been removed as of late, so I felt the need to preserve it here Bawitdaba (talk) 01:14, October 22, 2022 (UTC)

I don’t mind big edits so it is fine. Also you do have a good point. Sometime, can more of the enemy species pages be cleaned up? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 01:24, October 22, 2022 (UTC)
It’s all good, preserving information is always a good thing! Feel free to add any more info that has been removed or may be in danger of being removed! :) HannahMontanaFan (talk) 05:51, October 22, 2022 (UTC)
Hi, I was wondering if you were working on helping explain every single Monty Mole species related mistake done in the Super Mario Wiki (both older revisions and newer revisions). Sorry if I come off as a little annoying. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 06:09, October 22, 2022 (UTC)

Old Mario Wiki Monty Mole stuff

Hi, I was wondering what you thought of the old Super Mario Wiki revisions of the Monty Mole species pages (since you said that you liked most of the older revisions). The reason I am asking this is because the older revisions for the Monty Mole species had plenty of errors and I wanted to hear your opinion on it. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:47, October 30, 2022 (UTC)

I can name a couple; really early on, due to sharing the same name, both the Monty Mole and the Flower Fields Monty Mole from Paper Mario were merged in the same page (but they were later split in late 2012, in January 2013, the page was retitled to "Monty Mole (Paper Mario)" but was changed to "Monty Mole (green)" in early 2016 and then in April 2020, the title was changed back to "Monty Mole (Flower Fields)". They even listed Major Burrows as a notable member of the Monty Moles despite the fact that we've established that he is not apart of the Monty Mole species but rather the Undergrunt species which are very different, they even listed "Whacka" from the Paper Mario games as a Monty Mole relative despite him sharing no similarities, not to mention the Undergrunt / Undergrunt Gunner similarity you brought up earlier. The page doesn't mention any similarity between the Monty Moles and Rocky Wrenches (but yet treats the Undergrunts like they're totally related (when they're not)), they also got the error with how all the Monty Moles were referred to as Chubbies in MK64 despite the instruction booklet applying that name for one specific Monty Mole rather than the whole species. There was also the Presenter thing you pointed out. I'm not sure if the Drill Mole is related or not but I know for a fact Mole Folk and Mukumukus are incredibly different but yet they're still listed as relatives despite the latter having the appearance of a SQUIRREL and the only similarity being their attack patterns but even then, it's somewhat. Despite all this, the biggest error I felt was how they listed Rocky Wrench as a mere relative while listing the Undergrunts as an actual SUB-SPECIES. Here is the page if you want to read the whole thing https://web.archive.org/web/20121021234918/http://www.mariowiki.com/Monty_Mole. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 00:18, October 31, 2022 (UTC)
Yeah the old Super Mario Wiki unfairly treated Rocky Wrench dirty for literally no reason yet treated the Undergrunts like they were 100% totally Monty Mole species (I also recall in the old revisions that they no joke said Rocky Wrench was unrelated, despite having far more similarities to Monty Moles then the Undergrunts). Not to mention the fact that for the longest time, the unrelated SMG Monty was treated the exact same as Rocky Wrench despite having literally nothing in common with Rocky Wrench besides throwing wrenches. Like why did the old Super Mario Wiki have to treat the Undergrunts like they were 100% meant to be Monty Mole species, despite literally having no connection at all, no similar names, designs, or attack patterns, everything the Undergrunt species did felt nothing like what the Monty Mole species did. The Undergrunts are like on the same league as like other moles unrelated to Monty Moles like the Moles in Super Mario RPG snd Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, I seriously do not get why many people had to treat the Undergrunts like they were Monty Mole species when there was nothing unique about them that even hinted at the possibility. Also, the name "Drill Mole" is probably an incorrect conjectural name for Ragumo. Speaking of which, yes, Ragumo is a confirmed relative to Monty Mole (yet even today the actual source that said downright that they were a relative said that it wasn’t defiant he because of it saying it in a shocked manner. Personally, I think it was stating they were a relative, it was likely just saying that as like as a shocking reveal. Super Mario-kun also deliberately redesigned Ragumo in volume 6 to look like Monty Mole). I can kind of understand Flower Fields Monty Mole being merged with the regular ones (even though they have different fur colors, they still share the same name but only stronger), but Presenetr I don’t get. They look completely unique and look more like Mega Mole then Monty Mole, so I have no idea why they were treated the exact same as a normal Monty Mole for so long (although to be fair, I did recently discover the Monty Moles in remake were not Presenters but this was way before the remake anyways so yeah). Lastly, I wanted to mention that the Super Mario Wiki still somewhat thinks the Undergrunts are Monty Mole species (proof: https://www.mariowiki.com/Talk:Undergrunt). Anyways, what do you think about all of this? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:13, October 31, 2022 (UTC)
Also, a small misconception I know is that I saw two people think the Flower Moles from Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope were Monty Mole variants, but actually they aren’t. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:13, October 31, 2022 (UTC)
That could be added, it is quite silly how they treated the Rocky Wrench one way but the Undergrunt (who's completely different) another way. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:08, November 2, 2022 (UTC)
Oh ok, you cool with adding the misconceptions we listed here? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 04:34, November 2, 2022 (UTC)
Sure! HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:24, November 2, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, also weren’t airships spelt differently in the Australian version of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii Prima Guidebook? Also, was the Monty Mole and Rocky Wrench section in the enemies page for the Australian New Super Mario Bros. Wii Prima guidebook different from the American version or is it the exact same? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:33, November 2, 2022 (UTC)
Yes, they were labeled as "Sky Ships" in the USA Guide and in the AUS Guide as "Giant Airships" (or "Airships" on most other pages), from what I can see, the Monty Mole / Rocky Wrench description is similar in both versions. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:30, November 3, 2022 (UTC)
I really liked the two sections you added on the list of misconceptions page. Is it cool if you add images of the misconceptions to (like screenshots and stuff)? Also, you really found all of those incorrect names from the English Mario Portal being from unofficial sources (like old revisions of the Fandom Mario Wiki and Super Mario Wiki)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:12, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
Also, is it cool if you make a Mario Portal page on the MarioPedia that details every single error that it has done (like what the Super Mario Wiki did for the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:14, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! I could add several images, some of the incorrect names from the English Mario portal were also taken from both old and new versions on the Super Mario Wiki (several of which were derived from the NSMBU Prima Guide which we've established is unreliable), some names used were also not the correct games used in the game in question (such as naming the Swoopers, Swoops in Super Mario World section despite their name in that game clearly being "Swooper" in that game according to the Guide, Nintendo Power, and even the game itself) and then there are some names which are just either outright false or merely lost in translation like Spinecone or Plurp. Yes I could make a page listing the errors on the English Mario Portal. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:19, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
Cool, I am excited to see the screenshots and the errors for Mario Portal. Also, are you down with making a Monty Mole quotes subpage? Also for the weird Mega Monty Mole/big Monty Mole merge, from what I saw on early revisions of the big Monty Mole page, it just kind of happened randomly for no reason and it was just kept. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 04:49, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
Also have you seen the YouTube videos that treated Major Burrows like an ordinary Monty Mole, despite clearly looking different and having nothing in common with them? Could one of those YouTube videos be a good screenshot for the Undergrunt section, ss well as probably a few other screenshots for that section? Also, you agree the Undergrunt misconception is the most biggest, infamous, and just flatout wrong and stupid misconception about the Monty Mole species? Also, what accent do you think the two normal Rocky Wrenches in Paper Mario: The Origami King are meant to have (I think it is either meant to be country or Canadian but I am not sure)? You can check the quote section on the Rocky Wrench page for reference. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 05:18, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
I haven't seen those videos yet but I will check them out because it does seem incorrect, I do agree that the Undergrunt misconception is a ridiculous one (and this is coming from someone who's seen heaps of errors over the past several years), I will have to check that out, it is kind of strange that a merge like that went unnoticed though. Also, I made the page, it is still incomplete (there are still sections that I intend to add) but for now, I'd say it looks good! HannahMontanaFan (talk) 12:58, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
I saw the Mario Portal page, and it was pretty cool. One suggestion I would make though is you should cover the errors that Mario Portal made for the Super Mario Land games to, especially considering a lot of enemies in the Super Mario Land games only have Japanese names (especially the sequel). Also, any Monty Mole species pages from Super Mario Wiki that have been deleted overtime? The only two I can think of are ghost Monty Mole and Golden Monty Mole (both were pages I made). The former was deleted when I was new to Super Mario Wiki, and they deleted it due to the lack of info it had. The latter was deleted because of the Super Mario Wiki thinking it was just an ordinary Monty Mole variant that was too generic to get a page (like Golden Ukiki). However, the Golden Monty Moles have their name full capitalized in-game (though I am unsure what the Prima Guide said). I did make both the ghost Monty Mole and Golden Monty Mole pages come back on this wiki though (with the latter being made in the fandom Mario Wiki to). Also, what is that weird alternate name for Slurpie even from? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:48, November 4, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for working on the Mario Portal page. Although we didn’t get to cover the Super Mario Land games, at least we covered enough to get the point that the English Mario Portal is unreliable. Anyways, you cool with helping add images to the list of misconceptions pages (like screenshots of the misconceptions from like YouTube videos, fan sites, Super Mario Wiki and the fandom Mario Wiki, etc)? Oh and also, what about my question on deleted Monty Mole species pages the Super Mario Wiki once had? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 16:23, November 6, 2022 (UTC)
Also, do you mind putting more references for enemy names for some of these pages. I get that they are official names, but I think you should source where the name came from (for example, I sourced the name 1-up Mole being from a Nintendo Power issue about Mario Pinball Land). Oh and also, what did Nintendo Power even call the Super Mario Galaxy moles anyways? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 20:04, November 6, 2022 (UTC)
No Problem! Also, sure I could source the names and add the images for the page. as for the question regarding the SMG Moles, Nintendo Power initially called them Moles but later started calling them Undergrunts, the Undergrunt Gunners had their name found sooner (most likely because the Toad Brigade Captain actually called them that in-game), as for the SML section, that will be done one more is discovered about it. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 03:34, November 7, 2022 (UTC)
Cool, also what about the SMG Monty? Also, did Nintendo Power likely only call Undergrunts as just moles intimately since they knew they had nothing to do with Monty Mole? Anyways, I am excited to see the screenshots and extra use of using sources. Also, about my question on pages the Super Mario Wiki deleted that related to Monty Mole species? Also, also, the Super Mario Wiki treats Monty Moles being called Gophers in Super Mario Kart as the main name, but they were only called that in the Super Mario Kart instruction booklet, and they were referred to as Monty Moles by Nintendo Power. Also, any notable Monty Mole species stuff said by Nintendo Power (mainly later on in their lifespan)? Did the Australian version of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii Prima Guide have the Monty Mole & Rocky Wrench section the exact same or slightly different (or other info given from them)? Lastly, mind helping add more descriptions of Monty Mole species from guidebooks that you own? Thanks, and also, I really do like the idea of noting other English speaking countries of various enemy and character name changes that happened in the regions. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 03:50, November 7, 2022 (UTC)
Also, know anything on Monty Mole voice acting? Oh and also, you agree that King Choropū existing at all basically proves that Major Burrows is not the leader of the Monty Mole species and also proves that Major Burrows is completely unrelated to Monty Mole as well? Also, is this reliable confirmation that John Stocker voiced Monty Mole? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 02:01, November 8, 2022 (UTC)
I don't know too much about Monty Mole voice acting as of yet, as for the Undergrunt question, yes, they most likely called them that because they're obviously not Monty Moles, they did the same thing with Monty (even Prima which merely called the Montys "Moles" as well). They did have a tendency to do that, they did the same thing with the Super Mario Bros. 3 enemies (like they called the Nipper Plants "Walking Piranhas" in the SMB3 section (their name in the instruction booklet) despite Nintendo Power calling them Nipper Plants, they also did the same thing with the Blooper Nanny, Boo (which was named "Boo" Diddly in the Instruction Booklet and Boo Diddly by Nintendo Power) and there were a few more (on that topic, I am current making a misconception about the Bomps in SM64/SM64DS), also yes, I could help with that and I will check out the differences between guides. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:17, November 8, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for helping, will you help after making that Bomp misconception? Also, liked the new misconception I added? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 04:27, November 8, 2022 (UTC)
Also after the Monty Mole description stuff, are you cool with making a page that documents all the Monty Mole quotes (like the section on the Rocky Wrench page)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 06:36, November 8, 2022 (UTC)

fixes

Thank you for fixing that link on the Koopa Paratroopa page -- i was just trying to clean up the formatting Bawitdaba (talk) 20:27, November 8, 2022 (UTC)

No Problem! :) HannahMontanaFan (talk) 22:30, November 8, 2022 (UTC)
Oh also HM Fan, how is getting the Monty Mole descriptions from guidebooks been going? Are you also going to help with quotes to? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 23:05, November 8, 2022 (UTC)
Hi, I am still wondering how those Monty Mole species guidebook descriptions have been going (like if you are working on them right now)? Oh and also about my question on if you know any deleted Monty Mole species pages? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 05:18, November 9, 2022 (UTC)
Also I checked some of the templates seen in Super Mario Wiki, and a lot of them should be improved and updated to include all the species and characters (like the Paper Mario: The Origami King one forgetting to have most of the NPC species and some of the Mario Party ones to like the Mario Party 6 template). Mind helping port these templates with the right info? Oh and also, about my previous questions (like how are the Monty Mole descriptions going)? Oh and quick question, are the enlarged Monty Moles from Wiggler Park in Mario Golf: World Tour meant to be big Monty Moles or a spectate enlarged Monty Mole (since they are much bigger than big Monty Moles), or are just the players in Wiggler Park much smaller while the enemies are normal sized (kind of like what happens in Mario Party DS)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:48, November 9, 2022 (UTC)
Also, mind helping get the sources for the alternate names for the Chairs from Super Mario 64 sometime to (like while getting the Monty Mole descriptions)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 09:03, November 10, 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, I've just been swamped with a couple work projects in real life but they're starting to ease down now. Yes I will add the sources for those (and several others too), also the Monty Mole bios are underway, and for the other question regarding the Yoshi Park Monty Moles, those are most likely normal-sized Monty Moles (much like how the SMG Pokeys are often confused for Giant Pokeys despite being confirmed to be regular Pokeys) also sure, I can help with those templates. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 09:59, November 10, 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the help, I am excited to see your work. Also, does this mean that the player characters in Wiggler Park are just shrunken down and it is just a misconception that the enemies are bigger, but in reality it is just the players that are shrunken and the enemies are just normal sized (like with Mario Party DS)? If this is true, could this be added as a misconception since the Mario Wiki treats the enemies in Wiggler Park as enlarged variants? Also, any other Monty Mole species pages that the Super Mario Wiki deleted? Also there is this one trivia point on the Super Mario Wiki Mega Mole page that always confused me. The trivia point says "In Super Mario 64 source assets, Monty Mole's model is internally labeled "indy" and has its size set to 25% of the base model when implemented in-game, indicating the original intent for them was to be Mega Moles." However, I do not recall any mentions of Mega Moles being planned to appear in Super Mario 64 so do you know if this is true or false? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:31, November 10, 2022 (UTC)
So how has progress been going? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:27, November 11, 2022 (UTC)
I just checked both the NSMBW guides now, I can confirm that the descriptions for the Monty Mole and Rocky Wrench in both regions are the same. As for Wiggler Park, the characters being smaller seems like the more likely possibility as the environments around them appear to be larger as well but who knows (I may have to look into that further), for the question regarding the SM64 Monty Moles, I couldn't see anything regarding Mega Moles on TCRF so probably not. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 23:46, November 11, 2022 (UTC)
Oh ok, anyways, I was curious on what guidebooks you own that have Monty Mole species in them? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:17, November 12, 2022 (UTC)
I own heaps of guides and Nintendo Power magazines that mention Monty Moles, Rocky Wrenches, etc. in them, I could list a couple but most of them may list information that we already know. HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:55, November 12, 2022 (UTC)

(late) Halloween but

I been breathing new life into the Luigi's Mansion Wiki for the past day or so. Just figured you'd find it cool. You have a visitor (Boo) follow you as you scroll the wiki & there's image of ghosts in the editing box as well Bawitdaba (talk) 03:38, November 12, 2022 (UTC)

Nice! I love it! Looks Spoooooky! :P HannahMontanaFan (talk) 04:55, November 12, 2022 (UTC)
Oh and what about my question? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 05:24, November 12, 2022 (UTC)
Which one? HannahMontanaFan (talk) 21:38, November 12, 2022 (UTC)
The one about listing all the guidebook bios of guidebooks you have that have Monty Mole species. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:02, November 12, 2022 (UTC)
