Ice Bats are an icy variant of Bats that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They only appear in the galaxy, Freezeflame Galaxy. They may also be a species of Swooper as they act similarly to them, though if they hit Mario or Luigi, they freeze him. Mario or Luigi gets frozen on contact when they collide with these enemies. When they also come into their territory, they charge at them to damage them. Ice Bats cannot be killed in any way, only freezing Mario on contact. When they freeze Mario or Luigi, they taunt or laugh at them when they get frostbitten. However, they can be stunned with a Spin attack. The only way to kill an Ice Bat is with a Fire Flower.
