Species origin Mechakoopa

A Mega Mecha-Koopa (also spelt as Mega Mechakoopa) is a larger variant of a Mecha-Koopa that appears as a miniboss in Mario Party 10. The Mega Mechakoopa one of the game's mid-bosses. In its boss minigame Mega Mechakoopa's Swing & Stomp, players must ride up elevators and swing on suspensions hanging from the ceiling to jump on the Mega Mechakoopa's head and deal damage. As its health dwindles, the Mega Mechakoopa will begin moving more erratically and breathing fire to try and catch players off-guard.

Mega Mecha-Koopas also appear in Super Mario Maker 2, being created by enlarging a Mecha-Koopa with a Super Mushroom. They act the same as their smaller counterparts, right down to using jet engines in the Nighttime setting, but their larger size makes them harder to avoid and due to their size, they cannot be picked up.

Trivia

  • The Mega Mecha-Koopa is the first larger enemy to debut as a boss instead of a general enemy.
