Jumping on a Super Dry Bones will merely stun it for a second. While stunned, the enemy's head will shake and will make a noise. Super Dry Bones can only be dismantled with a Ground Pound; the collapsing noise they make when dismantled is low-pitched. After about five seconds, the Super Dry Bones comes back together. Mini Mario cannot dismantle them but can make them rattle their teeth with a ground pound.

Like their smaller species, they are immune to the powers of Fire Flowers. The Super Dry Bones is also highly resilient to being frozen by ice balls, as they'll break free from the ice the instant they're frozen. In other words, there is no way to completely stop a Super Dry Bones without a Super Star.

Super Dry Bones also appear in Mario Party: Island Tour. Referred to as Big Dry Bones in North America, they appear on the second and third Star Stages of the Star-Crossed Skyway board. They give out seven Mini Ztars if a player is unlucky enough to reach them.
