A Pointey is a bamboo-like creature that only appears in Yoshi's Island DS. They are not really enemies as they cannot harm Yoshi, but more of an obstacle, as they extend from the ground to block Yoshi's way and bounce him away if he touches one. They can be extremely tall or very short, but each one can be popped by a single jump, an egg, or Baby Donkey Kong's DK Dash Attack.
