A Party Ball is an item container featured in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. When thrown or attacked, they rise up and release items after a few seconds. Like the Crate, the Party Ball is a heavy item. Only very strong fighters, such as Donkey Kong or Bowser, can walk with relative ease while carrying a Party Ball.
Party Balls have a 42% chance of releasing a random number of assorted items, a 36% chance of revealing exclusively Food items, and a 12% chance of dropping several Bob-ombs onto the battlefield (the aptly named "Bob-omb Fest"); the other 10% of the time, the Party Ball self-destructs. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Party Ball also has a chance of not releasing any items.

4: Items and Rewards | A celebratory ball, filled with irrisitible[sic] treasures just begging to be released. Once thrown, it floats into the air and releases its prizes. It could be a variety of awesome items, but you should be careful-sometimes the Party Ball is stuffed with Bob-ombs. How rude! These balls are just bursting with items! Hit or throw one, and it'll start to float up. And then...POP! Streams of confetti and goodies galore! Keep in mind, though, that there are actually two types of party ball - the other one is packed with Bob-ombs! ...What do you call a group of those things, anyway? A kaboom of Bob-ombs? |
