Jumping Venus Fire Trap
First appearance Super Mario World (1990)
Latest appearance Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 (2001)
Species origin Jumping Piranha Plant

Jumping Venus Fire Traps (also called Fire Jumping Piranhas) are a fire breathing sub-species of Jumping Piranha Plants that only appear in Super Mario World and its remake in Cookie Mountain and the Special Zone. They mainly appear in the level Outrageous. A lone Jumping Venus Fire Trap is also found in the level Groovy, and another one is found in Funky. They behave a lot like Jumping Piranha Plants except that they can also spit two fireballs similar to Venus Fire Traps, though a Jumping Venus Fire Trap's fireball goes in two separate directions. They are rare as there are only seven of them that appear in the whole entire game.
