Fire Stalking Piranha Plants (sometimes abbreviated as Fire Stalking Piranha Pl. and Fire Stalking P. Plant also called Stalking Venus Fire Traps) are fire-breathing variants of Stalking Piranha Plants that first appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. They appear as enemies and allies in the Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser mode, and are first encountered in the level Hunger Pains. They are Ranged troopers, and attack by spitting fireballs at enemies. Their special attack is Spitfire Fury, which allows them to spit multiple fireballs at a targeted enemy. They are strong against flammable enemies such as Pokeys and Fuzzbushes.

Fire Stalking Piranha Plants reappear as allies and enemies in the Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, where their Special is Spitball Fury.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fire Stalking Piranha Plants (just called Fire Stalking Piranhas) are mentioned briefly by Viridi during Palutena's Guidance dialogue for Piranha Plant. Unlike most other variations generally mentioned in order of appearance, they are listed between Super Mario Galaxy and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story debuts. Big Piranhas, Nipper Spores, Big Venus Fire Traps, and Small Piranhas are similarly listed out of order.

Official profiles

  • Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser profile: They walk about while spitting out powerful flames. Hey, aren't Fuzzbushes and Pokeys flammable?
  • Bowser Jr.'s Journey profile: The fire it spits works well against plant-like enemies. It just has to remember not to burn itself.
