First appearance Kirby's Adventure
Latest appearance Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The Star Rod is an item from the Super Smash Bros. series that originates from the Kirby series. It has appeared in Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an attack item. It sends out stars at other players to hurt them. Additionally, contact with the Star Rod itself during a swing can cause damage. The Star Rod can shoot twenty stars, but can be used indefinitely as a battering item. Two characters swing their Star Rods different: Sheik shoots two stars one after another; Captain Falcon shoots one, then four stars at once.

This magic wand holds 16 star shots and sends foes flying at a low angle when thrown. It's most powerful when Captain Falcon or Sheik performs a Smash Attack while holding it. In Kirby's Adventure, the Star Rod is the secret power behind the Fountain of Dreams. King Dedede steals the Star Rod in order to seal away the nasty Cloaked Nightmare.
