It isn't the toughest enemy: all Kirby has to do is avoid the occasional whirlwind, suck in apples that fall down, and then shoot them back at the tree. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Whispy Woods is quite the blowhard.''

Instead, he drops apples on Kirby, trying to cause him injury. He may look friendly, but remember what they say: don't judge a tree by its bark.''

If that wasn't bad enough, he'll also suck up the pink puffball and blast him with air. Note to self: be more wary of trees with faces.''

Whispy Woods is a tree boss who normally appears in the Kirby games. His first Mario-related crossover is in the German-only Club Nintendo comic "Super Mario: Mario im Wunderland." Whispy Woods is the first creature Mario encounters in Wunderland when he accidentally gets there. He does not serve as an enemy here, though; rather he advises Mario to go to Crab, a wizard who is able to fulfill desires.

Whispy Woods also appears in Super Smash Bros. in the Dream Land stage. Occasionally, he will blow in a certain direction, sometimes sending players off the stage.

Whispy Woods returns in Super Smash Bros. Melee in the background of the Dream Land and Green Greens stages. Like in Super Smash Bros., Whispy Woods will attempt to blow players off the stage. Whispy also gains a new attack in Super Smash Bros. Melee; he can shake himself violently and fling apples at characters. A trophy of Whispy Woods can also be obtained.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Whispy Woods returns in the background of the Green Greens stage, serving the same purpose as he did in Melee.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Whispy Woods once again appears as a trophy as well as reappearing on the Dream Land (64) DLC stage for both the Wii U and 3DS versions trying to blow players off the stage, as he did in the stage's original Super Smash Bros. appearance.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Whispy Woods reappears in both the Dream Land and Green Greens stages, acting as he did in previous games. He also makes an appearance in the game as a Spirit.
