First appearance Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)
Latest appearance Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (2014)

A Poppant is a rare enemy in the Subspace Army which first appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Poppant is a very cowardly enemy, running away from the player on sight. If the player decides to run after it, it will drop various items, some that will damage the player and some that heal the player. It also sports a pair of very large trousers that hold the items dropped. Poppants appear in the Sea of Clouds, The Plain, The Battlefield Fortress, The Swamp, The Glacial Peak, the Battleship Halberd Exterior (display room only), the Subspace Bomb Factory, Subspace, and The Great Maze.

Poppants return in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as enemies in the Smash Run mode. Defeating one yields only an item.
