Togepi is a Fairy-type (Normal-type prior to Generation VI) Pokémon formally introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions, though it had appeared in other media before then. It evolves into Togetic when leveled up with high friendship, which as of Generation IV evolves into Togekiss when it is given a Shiny Stone.

Togepi has appeared as a Poké Ball Pokémon in the Super Smash Bros. series since Super Smash Bros. Melee. When it is summoned, it attacks with Metronone, in which it uses a random attack that causes one of several various effects to occur, including:

  • Magnitude - Causes an earthquake which traps opponents in the ground.
  • Night Shade - Covers the stage in darkness.
  • Sing - Puts opponents to sleep.
  • Leech Seed - Causes a flower to sprout on opponents' heads, similar to Lip's Stick.
